I know it’s just the opening drive but wtf?! This is not the way we needed the tone to be set. It couldn’t go hardly any worse than it just did.

Georgia is who we thought they were. Our boys have heart but they’ve got wayyyyy more talent and Kirby has instilled a very good culture there.

Out matched. UGA is fired up and playing their best game. Maybe we can settle down and hang around.

Georgia is good enough to beat us soundly by themselves, but we’ve been handing them this game with horrendous playcalling and unbelievably stupid penalties.

On a side note, this is the first hand in which we’re completely physically outmatched. Their offensive line is driving our defensive line back 3 yards every play, and their backs are driving our tacklers back 2-3 yards every stop.

This is a Murphy’s Law game. Whatever can go wrong is going wrong.

I don’t know where our players’ heads are but they’re not in this one.

8 fricking penalties.

EIGHT.

And there’s 5 minutes left in the first half.

I actually think between the opening drive, the crowd noise, and the fact that we were 18 point underdogs basically caused our flub of a performance today.

As a player, you see that the other team is favored by almost 3 TDs and that's hard to shake by itself; not to mention that you're going against the #2 team on the road. You already walk into that game intimidated and thinking you stand almost no chance, even if you don't show it on the outside.

Then the other team marches out and drives it down the field with relative ease on their first drive. You can't seem to stop them no matter what you do, and they score. The crowd is raucous.

You get your chance with the ball and immediately shoot yourself in the foot twice because of the crazy loud environment. You end up with negative yardage and punt.

The game was over at that point. The crowd realized they could rattle us by being loud, and more importantly our guys got in their minds that the pundits were right - they can't win. The rest of the game is a result of basically giving up.

I don't know what you do as a coach in this situation to pick your guys back up and get back on track next week, but I believe Pittman & Co. can do it. Ole Miss is looking like a winnable game and so is everyone else on our schedule outside of Bama, we just have to shake this loss off and get back to business. 9-10 wins is still in the cards if we can get back to how we started.

I'm not upset about this game and I'm not reading anything into it other than we simply aren't at their level yet, I'm only reading into how we RESPOND after today.
