There's a big chance that ESPN airs Ark @ Ole Miss at 11 am for week 6

No matter what happens in week 4, Arkansas and Ole amiss are still likely to be ranked going into their week 6 match up in Oxford.

If CBS does not pick up that game for 2:30, the geniuses at ESPN will get the game for their 11 am slot.

CBS is already locked in for a primetime game between Aggy and Alabama (boy, that looks like a dandy....), so, unless CBS doubles up, the Hogs and Rebel Black Bear Sharks will be in the early game.

Just imagine when ESPN gets full control of SEC television...

Two titanic SEC West matchups headline the Oct. 9 slate.

The SEC announced its Week 6 TV schedule Monday, with designations and times. It's headlined by Alabama-Texas A&M and Arkansas-Ole Miss.

The former matchup is an expected game of importance, but the latter features two teams coming off of big games against Alabama and Georgia (that is, the two games upcoming this Saturday in Alabama-Ole Miss and Georgia-Arkansas).

Here is the full SEC football schedule on October 9. The times and TV for Arkansas-Ole Miss and Georgia-Auburn will be announced after this weekend's games.

As a fan, I enjoy 11am games. I don't have to wait until 6pm to watch us kick someone's arse.

I can wake up, take a shite, tell my wife to make me some sandwiches, and then sit down and watch football all day.

Pretty fitting from a Hog fan’s perspective

I saw someone here post it, and a buddy of mine posited it to me the other day, that ESPN might start moving more and more big SEC games to the noon time slot to compete directly with FOX’s weekly noon Big Ten game.

In a way, it makes sense, as ESPN wants to dominate viewership throughout the day, and streaming makes it less likely that people will switch from the FOX streaming app to the ESPN app on their Roku/Fire stick/etc, as opposed to the old cable days when you could switch between FOX and ESPN as easily as ESPN and ESPN2. It’s all about keeping people on your app throughout the day.

That said, it does suck for the fans, especially if you are going to the game. The noon atmosphere is so subdued compared to a 3:30 or 7 o’clock atmosphere.

I prefer earlier games. Less stress built up. Night games I’m mentally drained after all day football and rant
