We aren't that good

Our pass defense was awful outside of the interceptions.
We couldn't touch that little bastard Smith when he went to the outside.
JPW looked plain awful, but at least he didn't make any mistakes.
There were so many missed tackles I wanted to hit the TV. You can't just hit someone hard an expect them to fall down.
Our kickoff coverage is nothing less than horrendous.

I think Alabama is playing great with so many young players. I think they are the definite team to watch and could be the "upset" game for LSU this year.
Its scary to think all these young players developing into much better Football players and though they've made mistakes, are still looking rather good IMO.
I sure do miss Saban's defense, that game reminded me why. I just wish our coaches were more aggressive. But I can't really argue what works. And yea, I agree about with most of your points but you can't complain about the win.
Its actually funny you mentioned this too because I was telling my brother after the game somebody is going to exploit Bama sooner than later. But I still think they're going to have a great year...

nobody in the west has been particuliarly special this year. With that said Au and LSU are not light years ahead of Bama like I thought they would be at the beginning of the season. Bama can beat both but I think from what I have seen: a loss to LSU but beat Au. disclaimer( I am from here and do not share the childish hatred that AU and Bama share with each other)

I was surprised at how little offense Alabama can generate outside of the huge homerun RB plays they get every game, that and the pick 6's and Arenas being a special player on the return game. Wilson and the passing game could step up, but so could the rest of the West.

wait till they play an accurate qb with a quick release...then you will not

like Stafford at Georgia? i agree.... next week all the Bama fans, with their memories of Bear fresh in their minds, will come back to Earth in an abrupt manner, and they will once again complain about how Saban is not Bryant, nor will he ever be...

Actually their running has been consistant for a change and the only way they have been able to sustain drives. If we ever get 2 td behind and have to get away from the run we are in trouble JPW can manage a game but too hot and cold to win a game with his arm.

I'm sorry I meant the plethora of 45+ yard runs you guys have and the insanely hight ypc averages the RB's are having. Outside of that I was surprised the offense could do nothing relatively speaking.

you won't win a whole lot of games in the sec throwing for 74 yards. Ark sucks arse.

I think Bama is a legit Top 10 team.

Fighting Tigers before the game I would not have agreed and thought that Bama was a top 15 team but considering the manner in which they have won their games (excluding Tulane)I may have to rethink my position.

What are they going to do when they play a team with a run defense? JPW is still their QB.

JPW is still their QB.
dont like beating up on college kids but I have to agree with this but LSU seems to be in the same position if for no other reason than their best qb is a true freshman. That seems to be the problem with all 3 teams in the west. no one has a good qb this year.

At least our guy is a freshman. JPW is a senior and you are comparing him to our freshman who just played in his first road game ever.
And JPW has never beaten AU ever, even at home. I would say that you have more to worry about. You aren't getting 300 rushing yards against us, Auburn, Georgia or Florida. Come throw for 74 yards against any of us 4 and you will lose by 20.

You are right...we are not that good. This coaching staff is doing one hell of a job and it is showing in year 2 of Saban's regime. This is almost the same team that went 6-6 last year and looked bad. Enter a bunch of Saban's freshman with depth and get rid of the bad apples and we are doing much better.
Don't forget this is the same team that everyone dubbed as 7-5 at BEST before the season. Lack of talent and overall depth would kill us, plus we had JPW at the helm. Saban proving the doubters wrong...the guy can flat out coach players up.
Just wait until he gets his players....wow.

My problem is that the gumps got more reps at QB than us.

I guess we will find out next week.
right now i am more impressed with AU's Todd than I am with JPW. You are probably going to get less than 125 yards total on the ground against LSU. You really think JPW is gonna pull out the win like Lee did for us tonight? Like I have said on about 4 threads. What happens when you can't run it like you did today or against Clemson?
