In all seriousness, I'm trying to imagine what the Big 12 would've looked like had Arkansas never bolted the SWC.

Perhaps the Big 12 would've just not invited Texas Tech or Baylor.

The question is - do you think Arkansas runs the table in the Big 12 and ends up playing LSU in the title game?

Nah. Petrino probably would've choked against the Pokes or Oklahoma so you still would've ended up with LSU vs. Bama.

Arkansas didn't have much of a running game from the 2010 season. Losing Knile Davis back in August was devastating, the offense was better the year before. Dennis Johnson and Ronnie Wingo were good RBs but they are not the elite player that Davis was when he was full strength. Petrino had to compensate for that loss.

Better question, imagine if Alabama had stayed in the ACC.

I think when it came down to Petrino in the West and having to go through BAMA and LSU each year that was the story of Arkansas's life. They were always coming up short against the best of the best.

The 2010 team was better. You had a better QB, SEC leading rushing RB, a healthy WR in Greg Childs who could have been a first rounder if not for injuries. Also one of the best tight ends in the nation.

The problem is the injuries and not having a complete team for any period of time is what kept them in check.

Big 8. Big 12. SWC. The Texas Bitch Conference.

Eh.

Oklahoma State was really good that year.

The Oklahoma State team that barely beat a 4-5 A&M team 30-29?

Every team will have close games at some point in a season.

I forever hate Iowa State for giving us a bama rematch

Tyler Wilson was nearly put in a body bag in the BAMA game. He just wasn't all that impressive to lead anyone to the promised land. Ryan Mallett more so.

Ok?

LSU and Bama both skullfricked Arkansas that season but they best everyone else

Yes. And then 2011 LSU goes down as 2nd best team ever. Behind 2019 LSU

2019 LSU never happens if 2011 LSU wins on 1/9/12. Miles is not fired either at all or as soon as he was with another championship. The pieces don’t fall into place without that firing
