I agree with what is said here.

I will preface this by saying before the season the game that worried me the most was UF. Basically new offense having to learn to play together with an inexperienced QB at a highly ranked UF so early in the season. We know Mullen was going to game plan for us like the it was the CG and had it circled on his calendar.

To many people in here anointed Young as the next Tua but I never saw that. Do I think Young is good, yes, but give him time. I think he did well considering how little he has been in this situation and how hostile the environment was. So impressed he held it together.

Overall problems on offense can be fixed but need time. Young will get his timing down as the season progresses. Even with the OL struggles he keeps his composure. A bonus for me is how well Latu is playing. I would love to see some 2 TE sets for Young in the game with both Latu and Billingsley out there.

Now I have never been one to get after coaches on here but there is no reason our D should look the way it does with all the talent we have out there. From a pure talent standpoint we might currently have the best under Saban but Golding is wasting it. He seems to have no answer and gets out played by the opposing OC to many times. He never has an answer. Anderson just like in the Miami game had to step up. I also really like what I saw in Sanders on D. But it is time for Golding to go in my opinion or at least get demoted. No excuse for squandering all the talent we have.

How many times have we seen this where an opposing offense figures out Golding’s scheme, and then just marches up and down the field for touchdowns unopposed for the rest of the game?

2018 Oklahoma, 2019 LSU, 2019 Auburn, 2020 Ole Miss, 2020 UF, 2021 UF. That’s just off the top of my head. Once they figure out what works they stuff it down our throat and we never have any adjustment or answer. We just keep running the same crap and getting whipped until the clock runs out and pray for the offense to save us. Thankfully, the offense is often so darn good it can.

It wouldn’t even be so hard to watch if we made an adjustment, stopped them for a series, they make an adjustment and score again, we adjust again, etc. But there’s no chess match going on. We run the same crap whether it’s working or not.
