Alabama Men’s Golf Fires a Seven-Under Par in the Second Round of the Maui Jim Intercollegiate
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The Alabama men's golf team carded a 7-under par 273 in Saturday's second round of the Maui Jim Intercollegiate. The Crimson Tide improved by 14 strokes from Friday's 7-over 287 and will enter the third and final round in a tie for 11th overall with a 36-hole total of even par 560.
Thomas Ponder and Tyler Lipscomb led Alabama by carding rounds of 3-under 67 on the day, while JP Cave finished at 2-under par 68.

Alabama Men’s Golf Ends Maui Jim Intercollegiate with Final Round of 6-Under Par 274
The Alabama men's golf team ended play at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate on Sunday, firing a 6-under par 274 on its way to a 54-hole team total of 6-under 874 (287-273-274). After opening the event with a 7-over par 287 on the par 70, 7,115-yard Mirabel Golf Course, the Crimson Tide finished strong by shooting 13-under par over the final 36 holes and tied for 10th overall.
Thomas Ponder earned his ninth career top-20 finish and matched his personal 54-hole scoring record by carding a 6-under par 204 (69-67-68). Meanwhile, Canon Claycomb ended his tournament on a high note by firing a career-best round of 6-under par 64 on Sunday.

The University of Alabama women's golf team concluded its first tournament on the schedule Wednesday, putting an exclamation point on a highly anticipated season opener at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate. Competing in a stacked field at the Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minn., the Crimson Tide finished in fourth place on a 1-under-par 863.

Alabama sophomore JP Cave finished runner-up to lead the men's golf team to a fifth-place finish at the Olympia Fields CC/Fighting Illini Invitational. The Crimson Tide earned a top-five result by carding a 54-hole team total of 15-over par 855 (289-284-282).
The 15-team field not only featured 12 teams ranked among the nation's top 40 in the latest Bushnell Golf Coaches Association latest national rankings, but it was highlighted by five of the nation's top-six ranked teams including defending national champion Pepperdine.
