I’ll be at the Kennesaw State-Georgia Tech game on Saturday. The theme is Military Day and 9/11 remembrance.

This is going to be controversial, but I personally don't believe life should have stopped in the days after 9/11. I was very much against canceling sports for that following weekend 20 years ago. Because that's what Bin Laden and his Al-Qaeda thugs would have wanted. They wanted to fundamentally change the United States. Twenty years later, it's clear that they succeeded. Therefore, even though the man is dead, Bin Laden won in the end.

No.
Next question.
Next question.

Look, I'm not in any way defending the murderous scumbags OBL and Al Qaeda, but this is like saying that Hitler invaded Poland because he didn't like the food.

Serious question. How old were you on 9/11/2001? I'm going to guess you were at the most a very young adult because anyone older would know full well that playing the vast majority of games (college and professional) the following weekend was impossible.
Let's start with the theoretical reasons:
There was real, legitimate concern for either follow-up attacks by the same group or copycat attacks. Mass gatherings were seen as the most likely targets.
The nation was in a universal state of emotional shock. There had been similar US events with worldwide impact in the past (Pearl Harbor, the JFK assassination are a couple of examples) but none had been witnessed by the entire country in real time. People were largely in a zombie-like state.
Now let's look at the practical reasons:
As soon as the scope of the attack was recognized, the entire airspace of the United States and Canada was shut down. If it wasn't military, law enforcement, firefighting or medical it was parked until September 13th. Once the airspace reopened, the first priority was getting the parked planes redistributed then they worked on getting the stranded passengers to their destinations. It wasn't until the following week that regular passenger flights resumed.
It wasn't just the airlines either. Amtrak shut down for two days and when they too resumed on 9/13 it was with limited capacity dedicated to getting stranded people back home. Rental cars and charter busses were unavailable for similar reasons.
The Governor of Alabama was out of state and got stranded. There was absolutely NO WAY to get the teams and supporting cast to the games.
Further, the attacks caused serious damage to the communications and financial infrastructure. Verizon's corporate headquarters suffered significant damage and there were widespread disruptions in telecomm infrasture of Manhattan - which had a worldwide impact.
TL;DNR - Even if you had chosen to ignore the national mood that weekend and play the games, there was no way to get the teams to the sites and most of the games couldn't have been broadcast.

If there are players kneeling during the national anthem on Saturday or Sunday. They should be arrested.

Not specifically that, dude. I doubt very seriously Osama Bin Laden's sole purpose was to stop Alabama from playing Southern Miss in the third weekend of September. However, they wanted us to change our lives and our habits. The whole point of the 9/11 attacks was to strike fear into the hearts of the U.S. civilian population while forcing the government to change its policies as they related to the Middle East.
The best way to have responded would have been to mourn the dead, pick up the pieces, but then continue on as if nothing had happened. No TSA, no Department of Homeland Security, no Patriot Act. Nothing.

I was 43 and obviously travel concerns were a legit reason for pros and colleges. High school kids getting on a bus not so much. I remember the mood well and I remember at the time thinking we have to live our lives not cower in fear.
