UCF, Houston, BYU & Cincinnati to the big 12 will be official next week

That would be a pretty good conference. Champion of that conference would deserve a playoff spot hands down. Possibility of sending a lot of men’s and women’s teams to the B-ball playoffs.

It's a weird move. It makes a conference that's a new tier between g5 and p5.

I don't really understand the point because all it's going to be is the conference the power 4 conferences are going to divvy up when they all expand.

It's basically the P4 expansion waiting room conference.

This will make it very difficult for Oklahoma and little brother Horn to get out before 2025

Bias since my mom and aunt are UH alumni. But I think the University of Houston is really underrated.

It’s a Tier 1 Carnegie research school, probably on the cusp of being an AAU school. Give it like 10-20 years.

One knock is that there is not much of a brand in a city with three Professional Teams: Texans, Rockets, Astros.

The other knock on it is that it is a commuter school in the ghetto. But I know for a fact people are trying to snatch up land and flip homes in that area. Aka some gentrification going on.

But I think finally for them to move to a P5 conference will reap some huge benefits. Houston and it’s surrounding suburbs like Katy, The Woodlands etc are recruiting hot beds, and more hometown kids might stay home now.

There was a reason they were left out of the B12 originally. Texas was scared lol I think they could easily become the third best football program in the state now.

So they move from one G5 league to another. Congrats

So they replace OU and Texas with UCF and Cincy and add filler in a conference that was already 4th best? Hmm

Does this do anything to speed up OU and uta coming to SEC?

Should have went with Memphis instead of UCF.

Pac-12 should have added BYU.
