SEC announced if a team can't play because of Covid then they forfeit the game. If both teams can't play, then both will receive a Loss. Thoughts?

I think it's better incentive for teams/players to stay clear of COVID so shite doesn't get delayed or outright canceled. I only see it as a good thing?

Staying clear of COVID is easier said than done.

Even if you're fully vaccinated, you can still test positive. The odds are lower that you will, but it's still a considerable statistic.

Also it seems like basically every conference is following similar protocols anyway.

That doesn't make it a good measure.

I don't like the idea of punishing players and teams because of a single exposure. And just wait, it'll happen.

I guess as a SC fan I figure we will lose most of our games anyway. Maybe if I was a fan of a team that could actually win something I'd be more upset with it.

Plenty of teams were dodging games last year due to this. Now this is the opportunity to hold individuals responsible for their actions.

I wonder how many coaches get fired as a result of having to forfeit a game

it's to prevent coaches from conveniently using the excuse of covid to avoid playing teams that are going to kick their arse. You can thank Ed Orgeron for this one.

The SEC is the Barney Fife of Sports. "Here at the Rock we have two rules. Rule number one...obey all rules". Last year was a prime example.

How does one stay clear of a microscopic "organism" that can only be seen with the naked eye through the world's largest and most advanced microscopes? All it takes is for one player to make contact with a bag of chips at a gas station to start an epidemic. You can take precautions to mitigate risk but you can never truly "stay clear" of it.

It’s time to quit ruining these kids hard work. Quit the testing bullshite. If you feel sick or have a fever then you sit out (just like people have done forever). If you feel fine you play. This has become religion. We are talking about young adults in the best shape of their lives.

Mandate vaccines and move the frick on. That one holdout ends up costing a team a game? Watch out.

No one is tested daily if the team is 100% vaccinated.

No daily testing if everyone is vaccinated.
