Charlotte is rumored to be where they're considering moving to.

That would make sense as Charlotte is probably the largest and most centrally located city in ACC country. It’s less than a day’s drive from a majority of the conference (FSU, Clemson, UNC, WAKE, Duke, NC St, GTech, V-Tech, and UVA).

How about Birmingham? It has a lot of experienced personnel in scheduling, officials, etc.

NYC is part of ACC country now. Media markets there would be huge, but the costs would be high too. Same with Washington DC. I would think Atlanta would be a big part of the conversation. With a conference spread from Miami to Boston, a good airport is a necessity.

Charlotte has a pretty big airport. It ain’t Newark or Atlanta, but it’s pretty big. New York is only close-ish to Syracuse and Boston College. Atlanta has G-Tech and is closeish to FSU and Clemson. DC is really only close to Pitt and the Virginia schools. Charlotte is the perfect mix of size and location. It’s no coincidence that the ACC Title Game has often been held in Charlotte.

How about Cleveland. It’s about as relevant as the ACC save Clemson and some years FSU

Well... does anyone in NYC really care about college athletics? The market there is pretty small, all things considered. You'll have some local Syracuse and Rutgers fans which are already small fanbases, and pro sports dominate everything in NYC.
