Its remote and small. But if you'll be mostly outdoors and don't mind the remoteness its great. The Sawtooths are my favorite range because no one really goes there comparatively. You might consider Ketchum, ID. The town is bigger and puts you closer to Sun Valley. If you're going in the summer none of the three will be that crowded.

Breakfast at the bakery in Stanley will get your day started off good.

The trip to Jackson Hole this summer has given me the bug. I loved the mountains in Utah, but the Grand Tetons were on another level. The only thing I didn't like was the crowds. The traffic in Jackson was awful. The trip to the grocery store was like Black Friday every day of the week. Loved the area, but certainly would like to go somewhere a little more out of the way.

You have plenty to choose from.

Make sure to add

Glacier National Park in Montana.

Ouray Co

Rocky Mountain National Park you can enter from either Estes Park or Granby. Stay in Winter Park.

And many others.

I’m not even sure what this is all really about. Just thought I’d throw those out there.

That's why I am heading to Alaska. OP, I have completed the Stanley, ID trip. Ate at a shithole in Smiley, then rode up to Redfish lake on a snowmobile.

My two best friends and I worked out there one summer at Auburn!

We have a house there! Well, Ridgway actually, but that's only about 12 miles away! It's my favorite place in the world. I try to get out there 3-4 times/year.

Jackson blows goats pretty much all the time now with all the traffic. When I visit I usually pick up groceries and supplies in Alpine, then camp at Atherton Creek and stay out of all that. I'd recommend Jackson to anyone that has never been because its still well worth visiting. Its just too damn crowded.

Been to the Tetons and Yellowstone during the summer 3 times. It has turned into a tourist shite show. It is nothing but a endless line of Asians, sorry Jones, taking 10,00000000 pictures of every rock and every blade of grass. Stopping up the traffic and just overwhelming everything

I loved our first trip but the last two were unenjoyable.

YeH, RMNP gets touristy and Ouray wasn’t horrible back when I used to go. Leto, what is it like there in July these days?

Ouray is still great. It’s such a hike from Denver that it keeps traffic low

Nah. The store is doing great and we are starting to take more ‘business’ trips. We did Jackson Hole and SLC for 10 days this year. Going to Savannah, GA late Sept for another ‘shareholders’ meeting.

I love the mountains and thought that Grand Tetons was the most visually stunning place I’ve ever been in my life.
