Big 12 now believes the American is attempting to take all eight remaining members. Earlier report said "3-5" Big 12 members were being solicited Bob Bowlsby told CBS Sports. Story up soon

ESPN to Bowlsby "I'm about to end this man's whole career"

Proof all along that OU & the Moo Moo's have been playing in a pussy conference all these years.
And they wonder why they never made it into the playoff or won anything, either (OU wishes they hadn't been to any playoffs as they've had their butts handed to them every time).

A 19 member football conference?
Nah. If the best of those two merged into ten those ten could almost make P4 (P5 is dead) money.

I could get behind this

Do Away with OOC Games, go conference only.

The rug is being pulled out from under them. It's hilarious but I do feel a little bad for them.

Again, there's no Big 12 to sue anyone if all the schools are gone. OU, Texas and a handful of XII schools trying to leave could fire Bowlsby tomorrow.

I think at this juncture it is clear that the Big-12 office and Big-12 members are not aligned. I think that is why Bob could only send a strongly worded letter to ESPN. The members would not let him pursue more serious legal action.
Bowlsby is just kicking and screaming because everyone other than him realizes the world has no need for Bob Bowlsby anymore.

Before Nebraska became irrelevant and Colorado, Aggies, Mizzou, and K State made occasional runs for Conference championships, the Big 12 was sort of entertaining.
But then it became the all-OU show and it became apparent that the conference’s days were numbered....that was at least 10 years ago. They’ve been living on borrowed time for a while now.

Nah, at least some Big 12 members had some dreams of a Power 5 landing.

AAC wouldn't be a bad conference

while it might not get the same money...it would probably be a better football conference than the PAC with those additions.

ESPN just nuked the big 12. Amazing.

If the Big Ten takes Kansas and Iowa State, that leaves six Big 12 schools. The American could take five and have 16 football members (currently they only have 11). I could see West Virginia refusing to join the conference they basically left in 2012.

ACC declined their advances when they were shopping in the early 2010s. If that holds today, they might not get a choice.
