Texas Rivals

One of their Rivals writers mentioned merging with the SECN since both are owned by ESPN.

Lol, you really don't understand how Texas operates. Even if you get them to give up the LHN they will find other ways to screw you and take control. It's how they roll. Go ahead and make fun of the aggy though, I mean how should we know?

ESPN dumped a top of cash into the LHN and it is not like those assets or skilled employees will disappear. In essence this will provide double the production facilities and content creation ability to the SECN.

My guess is you would see a lot of the western half of the conference schools have things shot and done at the media facilities in Austin, and the other half at the SECN home base just to help provide better coverage for a now 16 team conference. That or kick them down to the permanent SECN2 hub for the lower prestige sports could also be an option.

People don't like UT or the LHN, but the facilities, talent, and infrastructure would all then be "assets" that would now be part of the SECN. Them "merging" into the SECN is nothing but a plus, just because of what it does to the ability to do more simultaneous productions.

So a network that's been based in Austin for years, and staffed by likely fans of Texas, won't still have a Texas spin, on, everything?

I want some of your delusion.

Maybe they'll finally get some high school games on there.

Thank you. Apparently half this board thinks that ‘merge’ means LHN wins when in reality LHN is dead. They know it is dead and that’s part of the reason for joining the SEC.

Hard assets like a studio and infrastructure can be sold for a profit… just saying. As far as their on air talent, they haven’t produced compelling enough content to break even much less be profitable, so why retain them for the SEC Network?
