Brand is going to be the name of the game going forward in recruiting and conference expansion. Not TV demographics. Welcome Longhorns and Sooners.

I totally agree, name recognition brings in the money.

When Young at Bama can command $1 mil without ever taking a snap, you have to realign the approach. You want to be successful? Have a good brand to sell. The players with the best teams and brand will be drawing the biggest contacts regardless of demographics.

If it's brand, then you can't really beat Texas. Biggest program in increasingly the most important state in the land.

They're the opposite of A&M, which is competitive in almost everything to Texas yet has a brand that is honestly closer to Arkansas.

“Brand” can frick off. I wouldn’t trade any of these schools, Miss State, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, South Carolina or Kentucky, for all of these, Texas, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Southern Cal, Michigan, or Penn State.

Screw “brand”… I like it that the SEC means something and has a history…

But does history mean anything going forward? Vandy doesn’t pull any viewers. Neither do the Mississippi schools. South Carolina? Recruits already don’t want to go there. Now that there is money invoked with school brand as an amplifier?

This is complete bullshite, I don’t care who claims it.

If he is getting a significant amount of money, he’s just being paid by boosters. Which is fine, let’s just be honest.

I used to know a guy that called Auburn the West Georgia Cocksuckers lol. He really hated Auburn. He was an old boss of mine.

I just long for the days growing up in 70s and have my old SEC back. Back when the team's were in the southeast. Back when families crowded around a radio most Saturdays because you could only be televised 3 times. Back when your players were from the state of the school you supported. Back when there were 12 bowls and going to any bowl was a big deal and players didn't quit on their mates because the belk bowl sux.
I admire what Roy Kramer did in making the sec a billion dollar conglomerate but his first steps have carried on and are ruining college football. All this bad blood bullshite between the schools started with the big money. The transfer portal and NIL will be the death nail and this is coming from a fan of a school with the money to pay players 7 figures. I don't like it. I want my 10 team SEC back. Frick 12, frick 16 and frick the sec championship game which started all this shite. Hey ole miss, let's play in Jackson for old times sake. Aubie, let's play at legion one more time. Hey LSU, let's play in mobile one more time.

We could like, have like, 1 giant superconference of 64 teams. Then we could like, break it up into geographical groupings. Then like, these groupings could have championship games. Then maybe like, the winners could go to this playoff type thing.

16 teams, about brand?

How the hell do you brand a league with 16 teams?

I already get vertigo from every fast-edit SEC commercial that tries to squeeze 14 teams into every promo.

75% of America DOESNT know where Auburn is. I’d build that brand first

Not happening without UVA. Despite what you read, UNC vs UVA is the oldest rivalry in the south and they will not give that up. UGA vs Auburn is the oldest in the deep south. Look it up. Duke vs UNC huge hoops rivals So if the SEC wants them they have to take all 3 which will never happen. LOL Those 3 schools run the ACC.
