Considering the news came from a long time Aggy-centric writer initially, I would more than likely think this being leaked right before Jimbo took the stage has more to do with A&M trying to sabotage this than Texas.

If Texas was looking to leak this, it would go Bret McMurty or some other national guy, not some local Texas reporter. Maybe it was someone in the Big 12, but once again they would probably pick someone not viewed as an A&M mouth piece…
