Also...the fact that Auburn, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt fired their head coaches while LSU overhauled its coaching staff shows that people who matter did give a shite about how the season played out.

Mac Jones had 4,500 passing yards in 13 games last season. If he had had those two extra games Joe Burrow had, he would have likely finished with well over 5,000 yards.

If burrow wouldn't have came out early against OU, he would have had over 1000 yds passing and 5 more TD's. It all subjective. Both teams had great years. But I will always be a Joe Burreaux homer.

Winning the title during Covid is more impressive.

Not really. tOSU got screwed by protocols while BAMA mysteriously avoided them all season.

Our head coach, arguably the greatest to ever walk a sideline, was forced to quarantine himself for the game against our archrival.

How many starters on opponents teams opted out or had covid and couldn’t play against bama? Serious question. Since we composing stats and all. Also how many opted out or had covid when playing against LSU in 2019?

Against a decimated auburn team that was mailing it in until they fired their coach

How quickly we forget. Actually, the B1G commish put the first screws in tight. Postponing the season and then getting religion late to start the season after all. They decide to play 8 games and then had no place to put makeup dates and they start the season when the pandemic was ratcheting up during the winter. Who handled the college football season with more stupidity, the B1G or Pac 12? Too close to call.

The SEC had a much earlier start and Sankey had the foresight to manage postponed games so well that even Orgeron had no place to run and hide from his BAMA azz kicking he knew was coming.

You act as if Alabama's players were immune to opt outs and Covid. The fact of the matter is, overall team chemistry factors into a team's greatness, and 2020 Alabama's chemistry was so good that we only had one opt out for the season (and he ended up transferring out of Tuscaloosa a couple weeks back). It also shows you how much the team bought in as they followed our program's Covid protocols to the letter. As a result, few of them were forced to self-quarantine themselves due to the virus.

They had only two losses heading into the Iron Bowl and were riding a three-game winning streak (including two blowout victories over LSU and Tennessee). They were hardly "mailing it in" at that point in the season.

All of them were from the SEC and all of them were capable of beating Alabama on any given Saturday as Ole Miss showed early on last season. They were neck-and-neck with Alabama for the duration of the football game and their talent level wasn't close to ours, opt outs or no.

You can write paragraphs all you want to try and dance around the fact that these 2 teams are not comparable. Alabama had a down year in 2019. They returned most of their players not all but a good bit. Other teams lost A LOT of players. Whether it be to the draft or to covid related reasons or both. Truth is most of those teams where as you say cupcakes or shells of what they could have been in a normal season. I chalk that ole miss game you speak of to alabama sucking more so than ole miss being good but it’s your world. I’m not going to live in it.

Lol notice how no LSU fans ever have to start these threads trying to convince themselves who was better?

We know. Everyone knows

2019 LSU beats 2020 Bama by 2 touchdowns

Easily

I believe my original post in this thread argued just that.
