Just you wait.

Everybody outside of the LSU fan base 100% believes that too. His body of work speaks to that happening. Hopefully he can have the same success in SEC conference play like he had in the PAC

I wonder if there will be a power struggle with Johnson and Childress. I can’t imagine Childress will sit on his hands if things don’t go well right away since he’s had longer more consistent success than Johnson.

The fact is that A&M wants nothing to do with Childress as pitching coach, and LSU does. The more interesting part to me is the Caillet piece. He did nothing at A&M, but maybe that was Childress.
One thing is certain - the two fan bases hate each other as much as ever. I look forward to next year. Maybe Childress will do better with a reset

Haha we all know you guys were slobbering all over Childress being just a pitching coach in the other thread. You know damn well he’s developed multiple Faggie pitchers into Mlb prospects. He sucks as a head coach, but as a pitching coach it would be a homerun hire don’t be a bitch.

Maybe, maybe not. I think Childress is too stubborn to be a great pitching coach. No doubt he is a good one though. Like I said, interesting hire.

Just having fun. This rivalry should be good for the next decade.

On a serious note, I think the reason that Schloss is at A&M is that this Schloss saw this job as being the one that fit him. It maximizes his current recruiting connections, and is an easier move for personal reasons (his kids, who are both legally blind, live in DFW). He didn't let the fact that we made a run at Tadlock put him off because he saw this job as the right fit.
For LSU, I don't think fit matters as much. A West Coast guy like Johnson won't have to sell himself very much to Louisiana and area recruits--that's where LSU's past success comes into play. He will do fine recruiting local talent, and will get you guys some California kids too.

Yeskie supports sex offenders like Hemilich

At the moment aggies made more of a splash hire. Schloss is legit but also not likely to get much or any better. Johnson could become a monster or may just be ok.
I like the upside Johnson brings but he is not a sexy hire.

Jealous of a coach LSU didn’t even want to interview & jealous of an assistant coach that his former HC had no intentions of taking him with him to be on his staff at LSU? Nah, we good.

Good thing is, we'll find out

The things I like the most about the hire are the same couple of things that have me nervous. He's a young coach and could be in Baton Rouge for a long time, but doesn't have a very long track record as a HC. At the same time he has shown that he can get to Omaha and have success there. It's definitely not the sexy hire I expected from Woodward but I do believe he could have a long, successful tenure in Baton Rouge.
