I really don’t think teams 9-12 belong with 1-4.
IMO an 8 team playoff would be perfect. P5 conference champs - 1 G5 conference champ - 2 at large bids

Let everyone in; yay participation trophies for all.....even we'll get a banner to raise.
All sports are on life support.

Could you cry more? Christ. What an infantile argument, especially concerning the “death of CFB.”
You wanna know what’s killed CFB? Lack of parity and unequal talent distribution.
Did you also bitch and moan about participation trophies during the Bowl Era? 5-7 teams rewarded with a toilet bowl? Who the frick cares about 85% of the bowls? Players don’t anymore. Fans don’t.
Why the frick is a Mizzou fan moaning about a 12 team playoff? That increases our chances. Playoff appearances likely mean a boost to recruiting. Boost to recruiting means back to a higher level of consistent play.
I’d argue the season means more now as more teams have a chance and a chance is better than knowing. 8 may be better, but 12 isn’t bad. Anything more, yea. Diluted overkill. More incentive to win a conference now.
And northern teams to do well. What southern team would enjoy playing in Wisconsin in winter? No one.

It is a lot of postseason games. But, I'd argue it might balance out recruiting a bit. Since the playoff began, recruits see 4-6 teams as legitimate playoff contenders. Now, they will have a chance at a dozen more schools.
There's likely a better argument for Missouri kids to stay home. They don't have to go to Alabama, Oklahoma, or Ohio State to appear in the playoff. This is the same across the country.
How many recruits go to a school just because of playoff potential? That might not be the case anymore, and it might balance the scales a bit.

They need a rule that teams that lose more than 2 conference games aren’t eligible for the postseason or something like that. Otherwise the regular season becomes largely irrelevant and they will just pick the blue bloods as the at-large selections every year

Mhmm. I could get behind that. They need a different system for at-large selections than just rankings.

12 is a great number for mizzou. We'll RARELY have a team that could get in if it was top 6, 8 would be a challenge, but 12 with how drink is recruiting, very possible every once in a while.

I would rather go to 2 teams vs 12. Just more watered down match ups and horrible bowl games.

stop giving bowls to teams who aren't over 500 for starters. And you think there would be watered down matchups with a 12 team playoff? 90% of fans would tune in to watch a top 12 showdown any point in the season.

Especially with home field games to 5-12 seeds. That’s a boon for the local economies in those college towns as well.

2011 Cardinals wouldn’t have happened without the “participation trophies”.
Nor the 2019 Blues.

I kinda get what you’re saying.
But the bowl season has become extra meaningless if you’re not in the Championship.
So now we will get 11 more really good to great games. The 5 versus 12 would probably be a better game than 1 versus 4 many years.

Most NFL ready players playing college stay if they make the playoffs. Now you get that times 3.

Yeah but bowl games kinda galvanize conference comraderies.
Mizzou, quite frankly, kinda needs that because everyone feels like we are STILL not SEC enough. I really like it when a Alabama fan or a Georgia fan is rooting for us in a bowl game.

They’re not doing away with the other bowls though, are they?
