Would that be a record?

idk. But that is pretty darn good

I think it ties the record

Record is 6 in 2004 from Miami. If Bama has 6, we would tie Miami.

Cornerback Patrick Surtain is who you’re missing. Doesn’t seem like most think Barmore (the D-lineman) goes in the first round.

Mac, Devonta, Jaylen, Surtain, Najee, Barmore

Yeah that ain't happening

4 is a certainty.
2 of Najee, Barmore, Dickerson, Leatherwood would have to get in to get 6. Certainly plausible. All 4 have been mocked in the first round

90% of the mocks I've seen have him going in the 1st.

I would eat crow if he did

If this draft wasn't so thin at D-Line I'd guarantee you he'd go in the second, but he may luck out this year and sneak into the first.

I think Barmore might slip out of the 1st round but the interior DL class is incredibly weak.
Leatherwood is a bigger risk to fall because almost everyone thinks he’s a college OT to pro OG and I agree. Unless you’re an exceptional guard prospect, you’re not a day 1 pick in the draft. He’s not even played guard in four years.
So I think Alabama ends up with 4 or 5 depending on Barmore but my hot take is that Surtain ends up going the highest. Mac Jones has the smoke around him that seems like the QB prospect pumped up to go top 5 that ends up going in the 20s. Devonta Smith may get picked after Waddle too but I’m not as confident about that one.

Admittedly, I don’t pay close attention to them. Just didn’t recall seeing him in what I had seen.

Nahh, Surtain is falling into the second round where the Chiefs will snatch him up. It's destiny, just watch...

Yes, 6 NUMBER 1 picks would absolutely be a record. Not quite sure how that would go down, but it would most definitely be a record

There is a decent chance Surtain is the most successful pro of the bunch from Alabama. I think he's one of the best CB prospects the Saban regime at Alabama has ever produced. He's not as physical as some of the others in run support and tackling but the NFL don't pay CBs to be safeties, they pay the great ones to lock up on the other team's best outside receiver and shut their arse down.

Which is why he would look perfect in a Chiefs uni.
