Frick your ALL SEC schedule...

2019 LSU played #7 UF, #9 AU, #3 bama, #4 UGA(SECCG)... then #4 OU and #3 Clemson. Average ranking of SEC teams played, 5.75

2020 bama played #13 aggies, #3 UGA, #22 AU, #7 UF(SECCG) that lost to LSU in The Swamp... then #4 ND and #3 tOSU. Average ranking of SEC teams played, 11.25

The great ALL SEC SCHEDULE... ole Mac-n-Cheese played some juggernauts.

Is that an insult to Burrow or a compliment to Jones?

I think Burrow was a beast that year but comparing stats from '19 to '20 is dumb as hell.

You wanna talk about the 1,393 passing yards, 18 passing tds and 2 rushing tds that came vs Utah State, Georgia Southern, Northwestern State, and Vandy? Or maybe the fact that LSU played 2 more games?

Nah. Probably not.

I agree it was a shitty year but LSU also lost 17 of 22 starters and nearly 40 players overall.

Also they traded extra two SEC games for three OOC games so in a normal season, its more like 8-4 maybe.

Those things are all true and not really any more of excuses than Alabama fans made for 2019.

That's a bunch of crap.

First, either the season was easier for Bama because of covid or it was harder because you traded two extra SEC games for out of conference patsies to bolster your record. Which is it? You can't have both.

Secondly, so what if you lost 17/22 starters? Qwitcher whining. It's not like LSU doesn't have any talent stockpiled. Reload. Replace. Coach up. That's what champions are SUPPOSED to do. EVERY year.

Here's a clue for you - you guys are so proud of Burrow's 2019 season. No doubt about it, an all time GREAT season. Even Bama fans agree with that. But look at how many yards and passes he threw in garbage time building those stats in pursuit of the Heisman, when the games were not in doubt. THAT's a contributing factor from your 2019 season that has a direct cause/effect to your 5-5 season in 2020. You guys WERE a champion in 2019. A single year. You don't act like you have championship drive year in and year out, though.

I'm sick and tired of LSU claiming Bama's 2020 championship was a lot easier than LSU's in 2019. Covid made it harder, not easier. And if it was supposed to be so easy, why did LSU go 5-5 and get blasted out of their stadium by Bama in a 38 point loss (it could have been a lot worse, Bama took off the gas)? If the covid season was so easy, why couldn't LSU even eke out a winning season?

Jeez, at this point, just man up and work for the future. Give us something we can respect. Be a worthy opponent year in and year out. Make it a true rivalry. Because right now, 2019 is looking more and more like a fluke than not.

This hasn't been a true rivalry for the last ten years if anyone looks at it objectively. As far as we're concerned, LSU is barely a step above Tennessee, Mississippi St, or Arkansas. Sorry if the truth hurts.

It is wild that this same thread has happened at least 25 times in the last 3 months and it still gets to 7+ pages every time.

No one here ever wants to talk about the 2 QBs SEC championship/playoffs stats

Weird, that

Joe also had 100+ yards and 2 TDs on the ground which is the aspect I’ve always said separates the two

Mac was deadly accurate though

ETA: Joe also had a reception I’d forgotten about

Jones probably gonna be a backup in the NFL. Burrow looks like a run of the mill QB. Very average so far. . The NFL separates the men from the boys. Ask little Johnny football who carved up the great SEC defenses about that.

There's nothing wrong with being a pure pocket passer. Plus, with a backfield as good as Alabama had last year there was absolutely no reason for Mac Jones to run the football. Najee Harris and Brian Robinson were both deadly in space.

There’s nothing wrong with it at all, agreed

My point was folks always bring up the non P5 games as if Burrow didn’t absolutely scorch the top end P5 competition at the end of the season

No one knows how he’ll do in the NFL. It’s such a crapshoot on who will be able to adjust from college to NFL as a QB.
