Joe played against fully rostered teams.
Mac played against covid furloughed teams.

Only an idiot cannot see that.

We also didn't play against any scrubs in 2020 except for LSU. LSU played several garbage opponents. I can name at least four off the top of my head.

The guy deserves all the accolades, he stuck around and worked hard during a culture where most QBs want the job handed to them on a silver platter. Mac understood it's best to wait and hone your craft, I'm honestly shocked most QBs don't follow the same route. Why rush to attain a job you know you aren't fully prepared for.

It's impressive, but:

Heisman Caliber Receiver.
Heisman Caliber Running Back.
All-American Line.
COVID year:

Defenses can't practice like they normally can.
No true road games or crowd noise to deal with.

He did great at a program with incredible talent, in a year where defenses were Nerfed and no true road games.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him flame out in the NFL, but I also wouldn't be surprised to see him succeed. You still have to be objective and realize that he was throwing under perfect, A+, flawless circumstances for almost 85% of his passes.

You say this like the "ALL SEC" schedule was actually full of top 10 teams.

Frick your ALL SEC schedule...

2019 LSU played #7 UF, #9 AU, #3 bama, #4 UGA(SECCG)... then #4 OU and #3 Clemson. Average ranking of SEC teams played, 5.75

2020 bama played #13 aggies, #3 UGA, #22 AU, #7 UF(SECCG) that lost to LSU in The Swamp... then #4 ND and #3 tOSU. Average ranking of SEC teams played, 11.25

The great ALL SEC SCHEDULE... ole Mac-n-Cheese played some juggernauts.

But might be lucky to be the 4th QB drafted!

Hey I like the guy but he isn’t an NFL QB

Bureaux was the #1 overall draft pick. Will Mac Jones match his success on draft night? PROBABLY NOTTTTTTTT

Mac has one road start against a team playing in front of a full road crowd—Auburn.

If he’s the best he goes no 1. If he doesn’t. I don’t want to see this thread ever again.

“Best ever” should be a slam dunk no 1 pick

That had no spring practice in a year where many programs were completely shut down for a time during the season. The team they faced in the championship game played 5 regular season games.

Yes, totally normal season.

As for Jones, he is a game manager. Nothing wrong with that. In fact, if he can get the right fit (49ers? Pats? Steelers? ) he could have a better NFL career than Tua or Hurts.

Heck, he could wind up being the next Bart Starr.
