You seriously underestimate what is needed to fire Ed. If the president feels pressure he will have O fired and just pay a portion of the buyout.

If they fire him, it will be because he went 5-5 and they just want this shite to go away.

If he had gone 10-0 and won the natty last year, there is absolutely no way this would sink him.

Wins and losses always trump everything. Everything else is just an excuse.

I would not be shocked at all to see Ed get fired if he stumbles again on the field this fall.

But we are going to need a lot more smoke than what we've seen so far to get Ed fired between now and when the season starts.

The current smoke makes him more expendable, for sure. But there are plenty of actual politicians in Louisiana who would start to feel a lot of heat if they prematurely went after a coach who is still beloved by very many in south Louisiana.
