Seems like Wague may think his days are numbered. So good sign we’re getting a center transfer.

If he could ever learn to play without fouling he could be a valuable bench piece for someone

We run a whole lot of 3 and 4 guard lineups

I kinda figured that was out of necessity last year. At least 4 guards lineups. I do know Oats likes having multiple ball handler in the court together.

There's no doubt that Wague was looking like it 3rd string center. Especially going after the Kentucky Nigerian. I'm sure Oats doesn't trust relying on a freshman big to protect the rim. And with the nil that bigs are getting in the portal, some desperate dumbass will probably overpay him.

I think it's fair to say we ran more of it than we normally would have last year with our lack of depth inside, but Oats has shown he likes to go small in certain matchups in previous seasons, including the year before last when we were extremely strong on the frontline.

It's not exactly unheard of, obviously most people are familiar with the GSW death lineup, but really any team that wants to get out on the break and spread the floor has this in their arsenal in the modern game imo.

I guess in theory the idea would be that whoever transfers in would start for one season (e.g., Cliff is a senior) while Aiden Sherrell develops off the bench, essentially filling that Nick Pringle role, possibly either earning additional minutes by the end of the year or maturing enough to take on the role entirely the following offseason.

(Which Pringle never managed to do.)

If Sears and Nelson both return, I wonder if Oats just takes the first to commit between Cliff and Onyenso and keeps the last scholarship available?

It seems like that'd be enough bodies for pretty much any front court combination (assuming no more departures).

Yeah, I mean in that (almost perfect-case) scenario with Wrightsell back also, you could pretty much save that last spot for someone like a Liam McNeeley, or another late-declaring forward.

Think there is about a week left to enter your name in the portal, unless you're a graduate.

Honestly, i bet the 13th ends up going to a walk on again. It'll be hard to get someone worth getting that's willing to come be on the 3rd string. Might as well try to use it swinging for the fences on a recruit you can't say no to.

I’ll say this as nicely as possible. Bama basketball will find someway somehow to survive without Wague on the team……

LaBaron Philon has requested his release out of his National Letter of Intent to Kansas.

I'm guessing he's pissed about Kansas getting AJ Storr and probably Griffen. He'll land somewhere decent, I'm sure.

Honestly, Arkansas wouldn't be a bad place for him. Wasn't his cousin the DL who ended up going there after we told him he was gonna grayshirt?

Sears is coming back to play off ball and we're finishing things off with Cliff and Philon. We are going to beat the frick out of everyone and piss on their cold dead bodies.

Seriously, Mac has hinted as clear as he can in that thread that Philon is coming here. Multiple times in multiple ways.
