SI All-American Basketball Finalists Unveiled

Three months into the high school basketball season and we’re officially a step closer to naming the 2022 SI All-American basketball team.

In December, 99 seniors and five underclassmen were unveiled as nominees for the next SI All-American team, now just 57 players remain in contention for the teams, which will be named in April along with the SI All-American Player of the Year.

The final list of candidates is comprised of 46 seniors and 11 underclassmen.

Gonzaga center Chet Holmgren was named SI All-American Player of the Year last season.

Love this class the staff put together. ... Especially Miller and Griffen. All of these kids are used to winning and have a hate to lose desposition. Griffen is so underrated but comes up big every night, his team is #1 in nation and get challenged every night in that part of texas

I’m really looking forward to to seeing who we go after in the portal. Always one of my favorite parts of the off-season

Griffen’s fourth quarter run last night was really insane. He had three 3-pointers in the final quarter and was hitting from *anywhere*. McKinney played some good defense last night and he still got 25.

Alabama is getting such a lethal scorer.

Its a joke that miller only made honorable mention. Hes better than most of those guys on the first 3 teams. So political that u have to play at IMG , Monteverde, or La Lumiere. Hood-schfiano and grady dick ahead of Miller lol, unreal

I think Bradley, Miller, and Griffin are all gonna be great from Game 1. And that isn’t me being Homer optimistic (I said I didn’t think JD was gonna be as good as everyone was saying from the beginning and it would take him time)

Nick Pringle will be a problem on the boards next season. Can't wait to finally have that Donta Hall presence again.

Brandon Miller and Cane Ridge are headed back to the state tournament in Murfreesboro next week. Hopefully he can bring the title home this year, they were runner up last season .
