Our first trip to Bama in basketball after that game, the crowd cheered the first time we crossed midcourt. I laughed.

I don't doubt that, but I wasn't speaking on a per-program basis, but an average/median basis, for all schools in the top division of the respective sport. Much more specific and clear but a lot less catchy.

And Alabama beat LSU in the SEC Tournament Championship game that year 12-2. In fact in 1997 Alabama was 3-3 against LSU that year, yet somehow out scored them 63-39. Baseball is a funny game sometimes.
