It just goes to show you how misleading win/loss records can be when comparing the success of programs over long periods of time.

Its a lot easier to have a winning record in basketball. Thats why an SEC team that goes 16-15 in basketball has very little chance of going to a 68 team tournament, but a football that goes 7-5 in the SEC is not only guaranteed a bowl spot but is probably like the 30-35th best team in the country.

If football had a 68 team tournament, a 7-5 SEC team would be like an 8-seed.

Pretty crazy that we’ve had fewer losing seasons than Bama over the past 50 years.
