And zero people were saying this about him when he was in college.

But who knew? College kids don't have NFL speed on the defense. Walker carved out a nice career and had the size and straight speed to make a good running back. I think coming out of Athens he would have been considered a lock for the pro-HOF. To be less than that would be a disappointment for all who saw him run in college.

Who knew what?

You claimed he didn't have lateral movement like Bo. I mean, thats easy enough to pick up in college especially since they played in the same era.

I will say I watched almost every one his games his Freshman year and his style changed slightly after that year obviously along with how defenses played him.Still had great vision and balance though.

Nice career? Lol

He is currently 12th in nfl history in all purpose yards (was 2nd at the time of his retirement behind Walter Payton)

He was 17th in nfl history in rushing yards at the time of his retirement (ahead of roger craig and gerald riggs)

He was 18th in nfl history in rushing TDs at the time of his retirement (tied with OJ Simpson).

None of that included USFL. There is no disappointment in Herschel's career. In the pros, he was the bellcow of bad teams.

Here’s what’s crazy to me...He AVERAGED 30 carries a game...every year for 3 years in college. Insane by today’s standards. It was just a different game back then.
