We just got our arse beat in recruiting by OU, UF and Miami. All with new coaches. So the "needs time to develop relationships" excuse needs to DIAF.

No we didn’t.
We’re still ahead of Fla. ofc we don’t like not being in the top 10 but it is what it is.

And Fla and OU hired more experienced well know HCs.

All three of those schools hired coaches who have extensive experience recruiting the SE. But the relationships excuse is out the window with this class. The staff has to show they can pull the necessary talent, especially with an in-state class that is so stacked.

What exactly is it about every coach at those schools recruiting in the Southeast and beyond over the past decade plus do people not understand?

Venables was at Oklahoma from '99 to 2011, then at Clemson until last year and now back at Oklahoma. That's 20+ years of having those relationships already.

Napier started coaching at Clemson in 2006 and has only coached outside the southeast 2 years since then. That's 14 years in and around the southeast with one year stints at Colorado St and Az St.

Cristobal started coaching at Rutgers in 03 and stayed through 05, but with the exception of his time just recently at Oregon has been at Miami, FIU and Alabama for 13 total years and is now back at home.

Everyone is in agreement that Harsin and co absolutely have to step it up this year, but don't act like these coaches that you're talking about haven't been in and around developing these relationships for years and years. And it's not just players, but they know the coaches and the network already and have known them for years. It's just absolutely ignorant to act like it's a remotely apt comparison to Harsin.
