Payton said Brady was making a mistake because Payton felt he wasn't experienced enough, it had nothing to do with Orgeron.

SECR yesterday: "Who is this Nielsen guy? LSU hiring a guy who's never called plays? Oh I so hope this happens. lol"

SECR today: "Haha LSU isn't hiring Nielsen. Yall are so fricked lol"

I did exaggerate that 8th choice bit. But 0 is certainly making his way down tList.

Freeman wanted to stay closer to home.

Nielsen got a new contract and the assistant head coach title.

So third choice now?

Is this the narrative LSU fans are pushing, or did he ever really say this?

Nielsen agreed to DC LSU. Saints said no. They had legal standing based on his contract. The AHC was to make him happy.

Report on Nielsen

Idk that he said it publicly but his wife didn't want to move across the country and farther away from her elderly parents for a year or two because they anticipate Freeman getting a head coaching gig soon.

Let me root, root, root for the home team,
If they don't win it's a shame
'Cause it's one, two, three strikes you're out
At the old ball game

Wouldn’t be so bad if O would just say “ we are interviewing candidates” instead of naming a top priority (Freeman) and confirming names to the media ... can’t wait til the new hire was “everybody's top choice all along”

Did his wife really say this or is this just LSU narrative?

And her elderly parents would be in what their late 50"s early 60"s?

According to Freeman, this was his reasoning

Sean Payton blocked the deal. Pretty fricked up to not let your assistants advance their careers.

Actually it was in a Neilsons contract. Sean Peyton is paid to help Saints not LSU. If Neilson is that valuable to him then I don’t blame him. Every coach wants continuity especially when the defense will really have to step up next but with new QB and all.

Sounds like the Auburn Gang....Harsin was the 1st choice no doubt...the others were a smoke screen so nobody else will steal Harsin
