I am truly ***shocked*** Auburn fired Gus in a Covid-19 year with a ***$21 million*** buy-out also owing Malzahns staff $5 million - and having to pay MILLIONS MORE to the new coach & staff at a time when money is very hard to come by. Up or down vote your opinion of Auburns decision.

There has to be more to the story than just on the field

No, it's Auburn. They do weird things all the time.

Its like auburn to fire a coach who manages to beat bama every so often, hire someone worse, be out almost 30 million dollars, and meanwhile not have a single recruit that's worth poaching. The literal worst

It is amazing the number of people that think the money for these coaches comes directly from the AD budget or University budget.

Same folks think the AD makes the coaching hire. Come on.

I still am shocked. During a covid season where you don't get regular spring and summer practice, recruiting is all screwy with no visits, kids opting out, teams opting out, having a damn 10 game SEC schedule, along with the financial part of it already mentioned. The guy had a horseshoe up his arse and pulled out miracle after miracle for Auburn. He was good enough to keep until a unicorn presents itself, but what unicorn has presented itself as a better option than Malzahn?
