Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson emerged from the first of three scheduled community meetings around the state and said plans to require public gatherings of 10 or more people to get health department approval was still being worked out
quote:
"We're in a good spot in terms of, we've got our mask mandate in place. We've got good guidelines. We've got good testing in Arkansas," the governor said following the meeting when asked about whether new restrictions might be forthcoming.
"We want to make sure we get them right. And so until we fine-tune that, we're not going to be releasing that," he said.

He can't leave fast enough.
He hates small business owners. The swamp creature has learned a lot since leaving DC.

.. Obligatory frick Asa and his swamp fricking secret society, Bush crony arse.
Plus, I'm isn't limiting or hindering the right to free assembly kind of... Um blatantly unconstitutional? There's an Ammendment in there... I can't think of which it is.. I think it's near tbe top, that calls bullshite in this.
I really wish that gun totin' chick that tried to primary Asa's arse in 2018 would have gotten more traction than she did. Asa is the perfect example of people voting for him because there was no other real alternative in the general.
For his association with Asa alone, I will not support Tim Griffin in his gubernatorial run in 2 yrs. He's part of this administration.

Sarah Sanders at this point seems to me like the clear favorite. Unless someone that I can't even think of right now comes out of the woodwork, it's basicay hers to lose.
You know Trump is going to openly support her and I, if she's smart, which I think she will be, she'll position herself as a semi-clone of the South Dakota governor Kristi Noem who is very very popular with the anti-swamp, anti lockdown base.
I was not even a big fan of Mike Huckabee while he was gov, but if the alternative is Rutledge or Griifin, Sarah gets my vote every time. I really don't know who else could beat her.
2022 will be an interesting year. Boozman is retiring, and I wonder who they will try to tap to replace him in the Senate. Maybe somebody like Westerman?
He's very under the radar and stays out of the fray, just like Boozman kind of did, while Cotton gets all the publicity. Westerman would also be a lock vote for the Republicans on any big issues. Don't really know is he has the stomach to run for it though... I've met him multiple times. He seems like he just wants to plant lots of trees and be a normal guy.

Imagine that.
A permit to peaceably assemble.
The Bill of Rights = toilet paper.

I don’t want this to be considered an endorsement of him because I’m not a big fan of his and small businesses are something I hold dear in my heart and I know they’ve been greatly impacted here due to Covid- but there’s a slew of other states whose governors have done much worse- seemingly almost purposeful damage- to their small businesses during the last several months.
One thing I’m kinda proud of is probably 85-90% of my Christmas shopping has been done in my town this year at small businesses. Amazon must think I’ve died.

The 9/11 comparison was just ignorant I can not believe he went there. He has just stopped being a governor and started being Romero's patsy. Romero is a clown and scaring everyone. I thought this special commission he named was going to curb Romero's power, it hasn't.
I want to know why is Romero held is such esteem? Every time I hear him it seems as if he is not really versed on some aspects and just recites the CDC position. At least Smith would defend his actions. Even when I did not agree with it, he made a compelling argument that you understood why.

He isn't a terrible governor but he is still a Rino and compared to governors of other red states, he is still bad.
When he is gone, he won't be remembered for anything here. His flip flop decisions on covid is a result of a soon to be gone governor and not giving a shite.

Where we live, the numbers of those with Covid has tripled. And the life flights to a larger med center are ever other day it seems.
Yet, you walk in walmart and at least 1/3 of the folks in there are without masks, and brushing up against ya.
I do believe that we need to slow this thing down someway, somehow. But killing the economy isn't the answer either.
I do NOT like Hutch, for he really doesn't have the desire to truly lead one way or the other. Crony period!
