A&M Fans - Scenario Choice

As an A&M fan would you be happy with this scenario?
You get into the playoffs ... forget what had to happen to other teams but you were able to get in.
And then you got beat again by Bama (probably a little closer this time but by 2 scores or more). Or you got beat by Clemson or even Notre Dame.
OR ...
You got a great bowl game instead - Cotton Bowl for example against a good team where you just beat the hell out of them.
Which would be a bigger success for the program?

I’d rather win the bowl than lose two scores in the playoffs, I think. (Though it might depend on how that two score game went.)
Absent knowing how it will turn out, I want a shot at an upset in the playoffs.

Playoffs all day. Look at OU - gets blasted every year in the playoffs, but has parlayed that into great recruiting classes just because they "get there" most of the time.

Of course, we would rather be in the damn playoff (rough as that road would undoubtedly be), instead of going to the Cotton Bowl to face Iowa State.

If I knew the result would be a bad loss in the CPF vs a big win in an NY6 then you pick the win. But we don’t know. I sure as shite am not afraid for Clemson or Notre Dame. Sure, Bama, will likely win again, but you gotta shoot that shot.

They’ll play in the Orange Bowl if they win out and don’t make the CFP. Spending New Years on South Beach ain’t too shabby.
