Per Dave -
"The University of Missouri System Board of Curators has called a special executive meeting for Sunday. A new indoor football facility is on the agenda for resolution."
"A new indoor facility has been on the top of Drinkwitz's wish list. Mizzou administration got a tour of South Carolina's new indoor facility when in Columbia last month."
Would be another big gain for recruiting

We’re Mizzou fans. We’ll always find something to kvetch about.

If they're sharing the facility with other sports - of course this is necessary. This is the SEC not the Mac.

If Drink gets this going the next few years could be special.
Big recruiting win, new facility...he is on a roll.
Now kick aR's arse!!!

A new facility will help recruiting whether it’s still Drink or someone else.
Facilities seem to matter a lot to certain higher level recruits.
Whatever it takes.

Its cool that the boosters went to Drink and had him make a wish list before he coached 1 game. They knew he was the guy. Plus giving Drink what he wants and showing a commitment to the program, will help ward off poachers in 2-3 years. I'm actually looking forward to writing my check for this project.

Cool design. The open concept will make it feel like one big facility.

This was from the SEC Rant.

Odom was way more dedicated to Mizzou than Drink will ever be, but who cares. If Drink takes a bigger job that will mean he’s won a bunch of games here
Some HCs might stay if he is doing very well. Earlier this week there was talked about getting a new facility for football. He said it will help attract top recruits to go to Missouri. That is good to hear. Boosters and State of Missouri got to listen or else he will leave in a few years. He wants a winning culture and program but, to make that happened long term you got to get the facilities to compete with the rest of the top football programs. I did remember some boosters backed out when Missouri got into trouble and Odom was the HC and that was for football facility. This time Drinkwitz mentioned he was glad Missouri and boosters were interesting with the idea of having a new football facility. He said will help with attracting top recruits to Missouri. If that happens get done he probably will not leave. As long Missouri listen to him and give what is best to give him a chance to compete in the SEC. That is one way to keep the HC. Paying him what others willing to pay to get him may not work because of facilities are not up to standard to compete for top recruits. That is why Missouri sucks in recruiting classes all those years!

Do not forget Greg Schiano. He turned down the Rutgers for the HC job. The President wouldn't get the facilities build so he can compete for top recruits. Weeks later Rutgers President changed his mind and realized the money Rutgers is getting is well worth it. So he took the job. Schiano was the HC there when Rutgers was in the Big East. Now Drinkwitz is asking to get this facility built so that he and his assistants can recruit top HS players in Missouri and other States. This is the only way to keep Drinkwitz around longer. No other way.

Big shrug - every coach says this and Odom wanted it, Pinkel wanted it too although he pushed for the South Endzone renovation first.

South end zone was a waste of money and doesn't help with recruiting better players. You think 16-19 year old wouldn't make a decision base on facilities? You are truly mistaken. That is why many top recruits go to where there are better facilities. Better facilities do changes recruits' mind where they want to be at. I am telling you becasue they do work to lure those top recruits to the schools that have better facilities. That is why you and many others in Missouri will never get to hang on a good HC and wins championship nowadays. It starts with better facilities. If you do not believe so then why did Greg Schiano say giving me more money will not changed my mind from going to Rutgers for the second time. It is the facilities that I want built at Rutgers so that top recruits will come to Rutgers. He said Rutgers cannot compete with the top football programs with lowly and/or old facilities. Got to keep up with the rest of the powerhouse schools if you want to compete for top recruits and win championships in the future. I am not surprise there are some Mizzou fans are saying it is a waste of money. Either you want to keep up with the top football programs or you be near the bottom of the football programs. Missouri been near or in the middle of the pack almost every year and loses good HCs to better football programs because of one glaring thing missing is facilities. Again this is Mizzou fans that don't get it or just don't care for wanted to keep top HC and improve recruiting classes by turning down the HC request to build a facility to help with getting top recruits to Mizzou. Top recruits are spoil brats and must give those recruits what will get them to Mizzou. The same for top HCs.

Again why they all failed to get top recruits?! Explain to me why? Because Mizzou doesn't have what it takes to compete with the others that have better facilities. You are the one do not get it or don't care for Mizzou to be moving in the right direction to compete for top recruits, and to keep good HCs and staffs. all those years Mizzou failed to get it. That is all up to the fans and boosters and congress to agree with it or all will be for nothing. No chance for championship in the near future. If that is what you want then be it and Mizzou fans and others will go back down to earth for being fools once again!

Wow you guys are touchy. Relax - nobody is saying it isn't necessary to recruit. Read my earlier post, I'm saying it's long overdue and every coach wants it.

We don’t pay (enough), Lefty.
There are other issues, but this is the biggest one.

Just as a general comment I was shocked when I heard the current facility can’t even fit a 100 yard field. That’s no bueno

This will pay off in the future when Missouri keeps winning and fans will come and spend money and then the State of Missouri will grow and so forth. Got to support or Mizzou will always be an outsider like many other SEC fans were saying Mizzou do not belong in the SEC.
