If we have Stingley, Flott, and Vincent in the secondary against MSST we would not lose that game. I’d love to hear your argument as to why we would.

Because Flott has been absolutely awful all season long.

SEC QB Rating Against Secondary - Minimum 50 coverage snaps (104 total players)
15. Derek Stingley Jr (65.5)
97. Cordale Flott (144.2)

Stingley has been "good", but he's not been nearly as dynamic as he was last year. He's currently behind 4 Alabama CBs in QB Rating against (Branch, Moore, Jobe, Surtain).

Ricks has been better this season (65.9) than Vincent was last year (68.0).

So, while LSU would have been better in the secondary, they still would have stupidly tried to play man coverage all over the field and would have given up big plays against the corners and more specifically the LBs and Safeties the entire game.

I know it won’t help that rating much but Flott was fantastic last night. One of the few bright spots.

SOG, I know you’re smart enough to know that QB eating against has a lot to do with how the defense is playing as a whole.

Stingley may be rated behind those guys but if you asked anybody who the best cornerback in college football was they would say Stingley.

Flott has been no worse than the lsu defense itself has been and he was coming off an injury in the Mississippi State game.

This also required us to play Ward, who was ALSO injured and not really supposed to play. If we have Stingley and Vincent that game we win easily
