With all the injuries and not having a QB in an All-SEC schedule, he's not on the hot seat with another loss. Honestly he's one hotshot QB away from having us contending for another NC.

That’s a hotshot QB you’re going to be waiting a long arse time for with Kirby at the helm.

Let’s say JT leaves. It’s 2021 and we have BVG and a returning Stetson who won us 8 games in 2020. Who starts? You know the answer and it ain’t good

Why would a highly rated QB come to UGA? It’s not Year 3 where Kirby can pull the used car salesman lines and tell these recruits, “I want the offense to be this and that and you to be the center point and spread them out, etc.”

It’s year 5. We still can’t pass. Over the last 12 games we’ve had NINE Instances where our QB failed to complete 50% of his passes.

2019 Fromm (5 times) vs. Mizzou, Auburn, A&M, GT, LSU
2020: Mathis vs Arkansas, Florida
2020: Bennett vs Alabama, Florida

This is no longer a “weakness” or “non-strength” this is becoming our identity as an offense under Kirby. And it is not sustainable.

I think it is safe to say that most CFB teams with the resources UGA has is one hot shot QB away from contending for a NC. There is no indication that should Smart land said hot shot QB he would recognize that hot shot QB and, if he did, would utilize him appropriately. The jury ain't out on this but they are leaning that way given the evidence of the last 5 years.

Clemson is a good example. That Freshman filling in for Lawrence is as good as anyone Smart has had at QB and the rest of the talent level is on par or slightly ahead of UGA. They are 1-1 with that level of QB play. Alabama, Florida, Texas AM, Ohio State, all have a hot shot QB playing at a high level. Their resources are similar to those of UGA. They are all still in the NC picture. UGA is not. There is no program with the resources UGA has who aint a hot shot QB away from contending. But you gotta get that QB and coach him up and utilize his talents. Smart has not done a good job of this given the body of evidence. He may yet. Time will tell....
