Guys - it’s bad at qb play right now, coupled with Kirby thinking everything is just fine.
Kirby is the issue atm.
It seems as though he is going to cross his fingers to get back to the SECG and get smashed by Bama and consider that a great season.
We have two five stars and a four star sitting the bench.
Not a fan of Mathis, but why not try Beck out especially against Kentucky, even if it’s to hand it off a few times.

We had three possessions in the first half.

Stet threw 13 passes and 2 were intercepted.

Is Mathis not worthy of some PT? Even garbage PT? Guess Kirbs is trying to avoid a QB controversy m.

I hated that Kirby said 2 things throughout the week:
“Continuity”
And
“Our QB”
QB competition is a fricking mirage. And Kirby’s legacy is starting to suffer because of his “strategies” or whatever the hell it is.

Coaching was tying the team's hands behind their back today.
In the first half we had a 4th and 1 from their side of the field. Our run game was working. We should have gone for it there. Instead we punt, and they march the field to get their only score.
Later on it was similar. In the red zone near the end of the half, our run game again was working. We didn't want to score too fast either and give them a chance with the ball back. Instead we go hurry up, and pass, and Bennett ends up throwing the batted ball interception.
My 2 cents but both of those decisions were against the flow of what we had going for us.

quote:You're right. One of those was tipped and one was because the WR stopped running his route. I can blame Bennett for the tip due to his lack of height and release angle but I'm not about to pin the other one on him.

Bennett is not our future at QB but we have to temper our emotions a bit here.

Can't have QB controversy if there is no real QB.

We are 5-1 and 5th in the country with our 5th string QB...waaaaaaaahhhh

ONLY because of the defense.
That 1 loss showed the blueprint to the rest of the teams on how to beat us.

quote:CKS' #1 priority is winning football games. If Bennett is our best option at QB (even if he isn't our future), he needs to be the one playing. When the outcome isn't in question, we should be developing other players on the field, but not at the expense of wins and a shot at the SECCG. That always comes first.
Then he needs to be on the bench.
I'm sorry fans like yourself think it's better to throw away an entire season where we are still first in our division with everything still on the line for some player development and winning games in future seasons but that's just a stupid plan.

We have discussed this ad nauseum but Bennett is not tall enough to be a pocket passer. Bennett should be rolling out with an option to run, pitch out or pass on at least half of our downs. He needs room to see downfield. When Bennett gets tired bring in the backup and give him some experience and then bring Bennett back in for more of the same. We do not have a big play offense so we need to grind the ball down the field with first downs to wear down the opposing defense.

Ok, so Kentucky can’t read?

Where we will tote a loss with Stetson at QB. Love the story, and he’s a DGD and all, but that’s just a fact.

Do you think Stetson Bennett can lead the 2020 Georgia Bulldogs to a national championship?
If the answer is no, then he needs to be on the bench.
This isn't 1990. Beating your rivals and getting to a New Year's Day Florida bowl game is no longer the standard of a good season.

They did it, not sure what offense you watched.
We scored 14 pts against Kentucky
Even their offense pounded us for a 97 yard drive.
Next week will get ugly of us if we ply the same.
