Ironically we ran a hurry up, quick strike offense with Eric Zeier, Garrison Hearst, hasan Graham, Shannon Mitchell, and Terrell Davis. Split back and I sets. EZ is not much bigger than Stet' if at all and we really didn't ask Zeier to do a ton in that game other than hit a few 15 yard routes. Hearst and Davis ate. We were spread in split backs so we have run the spread a long time and gone fast a long time.

Osu's eddie george was out so Carter was the back and herbstriet the qb. They were a lot bigger than us. We were alot faster than them.

The tv crew was knob gobbling the buckeye penis but we found a way to win as we lead most of the game and scored the dagger with roughly three minutes left.

Herbstreits dad was interviewed and I must say he was a class act. He could see the athletes we had and noted it in an Era of big10 arrogance.

Zier wasn’t very big. Maybe 6’. Was athletic and had a good arm, but amazing ability to read the field. Pretty sure he didn’t start the season as a starter that year. He came in early too.

Zeier was a sophomore in 92. He started from the jump that year. You are thinking about his freshman season 91. He started out behind Greg Talley and eventually supplanted him.

That 92 team was one of UGA's very best. They lost a shootout to UT and Heath Shuler and continued the chokefest against UF (the UF players were mocking Hearst by striking Heisman poses). Wayne McDuffie was the OC. He was ahead of his time and his players still speak of him with reverence.

If my memory is correct, that Tenn game is when I gave up on Ray Goff. Georgia trailed maybe 10-7 or so but had driven the length of the field and had a 4th and about three from Tenn 33. Goff lined up to go for it and then called a time out and sent out the punt team. The punt went into the end zone and GA netted a whopping 13 yards. On about the 3rd play after that, Tenn dropped a bomb on GA and went up 17-7 and never looked back. Goff basically told his team he didn't believe the offense could get 3 yards after a long drive and it was the moment I lost all respect for him.

That game still hurts lol.

That was the first year of the seccg. UGA was the really best team in the east but UF went due to tiebreaker. The good news is that was the year Bama had that awesome D and destroyed favored Miami in the national championship. So they would likely have beaten us in the seccg, anyway.

Zeier was 6'1 Bennet is 5'10". That's a pretty significant difference.

It's only 3 inches but being under 6'0 makes it exponentially more difficult per inch.

Funny how the ESPN 30 for 30 on "Da U" failed to mention that prison ra... er, game.

Met Zeier several times, no way he was 6'1. I think him and stet are basically the same height.

I was back in Athens for grad school when he first came and put him at 6’. If you saw him in public, he was average size and build for your average frat boy and he was already going bald. Definitely did not look like one of the greatest college QBs of all time. He was fine to talk to though. We had both lived in Germany, so we kind of had some stuff in common. I was also there when he had the Sky incident, but thats another story. I can’t comment on his size vs Bennett with certainty , but it can’t be more than an inch I would think.

Just went with what he was listed at when he played in the NFL. Sorry that doesn't fit with your personal anecdote.

The person in question was still technically a HS Senior and he was in Sky’s and was drunk and made some remarks about Sky’s sexuality and it almost got very bad. Thankfully for the person in question, a few of us helped usher him out before it got ugly(er) as I recall it.

I could see where that would be a problem and Sky was a very large man. My first two years of college sky's was the place to meet girls. On top of that, he was just a cool guy.
