We have thrown 17 intermediate passes of 10-20 yards. And 11% RPO plays

Per Stats Solutions, Nix is 6-for-17 for 96 yards, a touchdown and an interception on intermediate throws of 10-20 yards.
Stats from a stupid Saturday Down South article calling to bench Bo Nix.
So what exactly has Morris brought to the offense? It's not great seeing the increase in screens. We can't run the ball. So teams will simply squat on the short passing game going forward.
And even even worse stat.

Malzahn used these concepts on 24.1% of all Nix’s throws a season ago. This year, Morris has utilized RPOs on only 11% of Nix’s pass attempts.
Great hire by Gus MaLLLLzahn here. We don't even pretend to run to open up any kind passing lane. We have no vision on offense.

Some of this I think is just on Nix. Morris has always been very dependent on an intermediary passing game. I just don’t think Nix likes looking at those routes. I think he’d rather just go deep. Yes I understand part of that is coaching, but I think Nix has an issue with checking down

Wow so people are realizing we do have a different offense this season. Incredible!
We have played 3 games under a new system. With horrible line play in 2 of those games and just a hair above average in the other.

Its game four. Gus just figured out he has a Heisman type running back. Lets see what he does against USCe before we give up on the season

Some of it is Nix. Some of it is the OL. Some.. the play calling. It would be hard to call plays with our OL though.

A new system?

There seems to be doubters in the room.
I hope it's more of poor executing of the pass plays, that we haven't seen more intermediate route completions.
Still not sure if that is on Bo, since I can't evaluate film.
I still have a problem with us not targeting the TEs over the middle or sit down routes. I know, it might have to do with Frazier not available, but with SHenker and Dial, it is hard not to believe that they are good receivers. We know Shenker has good hands, even though he may not have size. And I haven't even SEEN a pass intended for Dial.
To me if the TE is integral in your offense, then you target those that are on the field.

No. Gus does not run 5 wide pass plays. Never seen that under him in the decade he has been at Auburn. Gus also does not run the sweep with Swartz near the goalline. Gus also does not run the QB power sweep.
This is Morris' bullshite offense.

I agree this is a Morris offense. His offense obviously has similarities to Gus’s though or Gus wouldn’t bring him on.

Jang spot on dude. Different but similar. More pass happy under Morris more run under Gus. I mean it’s not rocket science. All spread concepts are essentially the same. There are 2 different categories when it comes to the passing concepts. One is space based trying to make the defense cover the entire field (Gus) and one like Brady at LSU last year where you aren’t worried about space as much an look at matchups and every play was a check to see who had the better match and just threw it to that guy. One isn’t necessarily better then the other and both can crossover on individual plays but generally they stick to their concepts. The LSU offense last year was just unconscious at season end last year much like the 2013 AU offense.
