They have ALWAYS been for a playoff/plus one system. Why are you refusing to acknowledge this fact? The fact they brought it up last year was just the most recent time. Any time it's been discussed they have always sided with a playoff system, just like EVERY other SEC coach and school.
"But there is a time and place for everything, as SEC commissioner and outgoing BCS coordinator Mike Slive pointed out. "It's a shame it had to come out today. This is LSU's day," Slive said. "But the First Amendment is alive and well."
This is not the first time the SEC has held discussions about a championship playoff. At the conference presidents' annual meeting last June, University of Florida president Bernie Machen proposed the same format. But he was overwhelmingly voted down, 11-1, by his fellow presidents. One of the dissenting votes, interestingly, came from Adams.

WTF are you talking about? You said we needed ALOT of luck. And i'm saying you will need alot of luck to play in the BCS game with that schedule. As in actually beating the teams you have to play, and then hoping other teams lose so you can play in the game.
and for the love of all that is holy, win your goddamn division. That's all i ask.
We'll see, we'll see. Unlike EVERY LSU fan on here, and analyst for that matter, I choose to let the games play out before I say we're dead in the water. Yeah, and back to that LSU luck, how much did you boys get down on your knees and thank Jesus that UK GAVE UT the game last year so you didn't have to face us?

Really? Where? Got any proof? I seem to remember Richt saying on tv that he thinks a team SHOULD win their conference, but that it states in the RULES that they don't have to. I've said on here from day one of posting that I think a team should win its conference. So where are these "whiners?"

He didn't like the plan the UF President proposed, so what? Neither did any other school for that matter. LOL, yeah, you really GOT ME there. Obviously Adams had a better plan in mind of his own.

It's so interesting that he revealed his awesome plan not at this meeting, but rather after UGA bitched and moaned about being left out of a national title game they had no business being in.
And at least OU won their division.

Only managed to win the same amount of games as LSU over the past 6 years?

Do you even read your posts before hitting submit?? And if he rejected the plan simply because "he had a better plan", why didn't he present it before/during/after his little hissy fit he threw after the championship game?
Oh, and I can post immature little emotions, too...

I love the amount of ignorant posters on this board. Adams has been for a playoff system since day one. Last season was just his more recent attempt. Get your facts straight, or at least post honestly, and you might get a little respect
The time to pitch for a playoff occurs during the offseason, not right after the last game of the season when your team got left out.

More importantly, we weren't lucky enough to begin the season ranked 15th, and end up playing a team that didn't even win their own conference for a title.
Are you saying that a team (OU I'm assuming) that didn't win their conference being in the title game is a joke? Sounds to me that's what you're saying............BOOM!

Adams has NOT been for a playoff system since day one, but I think my LSU friends have taken care of that one.
Get my facts straight, or at least post honestly...
...Hey balllicker, care to elaborate on where my facts were skewed and my honesty not so straight?!?
I may have to actually pull for Bammer over the leghumpers this season, God forgive me!

Slightly clearer headed UGA blogging:
"The point is that Adams may be right, he may be wrong, but he's definitely transparent. If the man's not squashing sour grapes, he's tip-toeing on grapes that are slightly past their prime. The fact that he chose the day of the BCS National Championship to make these comments is not coincidental, either.
... Am I being too harsh on the guy? Or is this just another prance into the limelight by a guy whose motives always seem suspect, even among those in red and black?"

The AJC had some similar commentary on how Adams might have been pandering to certain members of the fan base as a way to assuage the guilt from his prior transgressions - It's no secret that the man is generally despised among the older alumni so I wouldn't put it past him.
The argument about "whining" and "cry babies" is :beatdeadhorse:
Not like anyone's opinion on that is going to change any time soon.

On a completely off topic note
- how do you see Washington doing this year, and how happy have you been in Willingham's performance since he got to U-Dub?
Personally, I think he's gone after the season, but wondering how much support he's got..

Darn, I don't think I've ever actually spoken with a Washington fan.
As someone who watched the Irish through the Davie and Willingham years, I was curious on what fans of a different team thought. Oh well.
Back on topic then...
Guess the quotes:
"There's a strict protocol that has to be followed. It was followed, to my knowledge. It's sad that an alleged incident took place, but nobody can do anything about that at this point. What happened after, from my knowledge, everything was handled extremely well."
"The fact of the matter is we've gone through a period where we've had an inordinate amount of problems. We went through a situation similar to this in 2001, but in nine years' time now, we've had two seasons that I would term as very disappointing as far as off-the-field citizenship and conduct."
Not an excuse, but UGA is certainly not alone in off-field incidents.
