Heard he hasn't been so great in practice. That's what I'm hearing Baws.

Sounds like the freshman Rogers is making a strong push.

So you are telling me LSU has a chance in Tiger Stadium to get a win!

Thank God. I was so worried Miss State might score a touch down on LSU in the opener.

Costello isn't opting out. He's a borderline first round draft pick that can up his stock with a good year in Leach's system.

Will Rogers has been impressive and is probably cementing himself as the QB of the future.

What you are actually hearing or what has been lost in translation is that Garrett Shrader, last year's starter is not doing well in the Leach system and may opt out.

I have no doubts of your sources. I just think it started as MSU QB and someone along your downline assumed it was Costello.

Costello will be dropping dimes on LSU in 22 days.

I hope not. I would rather beat them with their starting QB.

Doesn’t mean much. Many in a similar situation have opted out.

Wouldn’t be the first QB in SEC to opt out

MSU continues on its perpetual decline to infinity.

How many Leach QBs, while he’s been a head coach, have been highly drafted? I honestly don’t know and am not trying to flame.

I could see Shrader struggling in that offense. It’s not his style.

He is a dual threat RPO type. Great athlete but honestly he might do better in a different system

Schrader should beat up mike leach for installing a dumb offense and then leave.

One thing I think had an effect so far this year was losing that OL coach to Missouri.

None, but Costello was already going to be mid to late round draft prospect at Stanford in all likelihood. There's a school of thought that a big year in an offense that showcases his arm a lot more could really boost his stock.

FWIW, this is the first I've heard of any rumor about Costello opting out.

Is that what happened? Schrader busted his arse last season.

There’s also a school of thought that any QB in an air raid is going to throw a lot of yards. I honestly don’t think throwing a bunch of quick passes around the LOS is going to boost his stock. It also seems as if it always takes Leach a couple years to get his system in place. Doesn’t bode well for a grad transfer in year one. I have never thought an air raid was a good showcase of arm talent, which is why you rarely see those guys drafted very high anymore. NFL teams got burned with drafting air raid guys like Tim Couch #1.

Recent quote from Leach:

"“I’m kind of waiting for those guys to separate themselves. It’s been kind of frustrating, I guess it’s good. Sometimes they are competitively good and sometimes competitively inconsistent. We’re trying to get one to rise to the top."
“I think KJ is ahead of the others. Garret does some good things, so does Will, I think they’re pretty tight. But I feel it’s still an open job. Somebody has to take it and run with it.”

Sounds like the QB room sucks. Leach regretting the team change already.
