I don't know if I would categorize Aaron Hernandez as "famous" but...

Not a good or even ok list.

No issue with Namath, but today it's guys like Tebow, Pollack, etc... As a large percentage of fans weren't born when most of these guys were famous.

He most certainly is
Obviously he’s infamous.

But he’s still a very well known player

For non football, Shaq and Barkley have to be up there.

For football, I would throw in Vince Dooley, Pat Dye. Maybe even Billy Payne.

There is some recent bias...Johnny Mack Brown should be on that list for his movie roles. But it was in the 20s and 30s
