What makes you think he isn't happy now? B/c of his rants at reporters? He was sweet to them at LSU right? Mich St? Miami? He has always disliked the press. For a guy with an ego, do you honestly think he would be treated the same way at UW that he is here? Notta gonna happen man. Not to mention, the little bit of bad press the man received for leaving Miami would be like a dream compared to what he'd have coming to him. Fran's farewell was bad but this would be, "Where's my big armed guard?" type of thing. As stupid as that sounds, it would probably be reality.

I have no doubt what so ever that Saban would be more than willing to take a paycut to go to a place w/ more realistic expectations. It would make total since. Saban knows he can't stay with Bama for too long. If he does and the whole turn around thing doesn't happen he's not going to get the spot-light that he loves so much. If he can get Bama to respectability this year and move before any shite hits the fans he will come out smelling like a rose. He'll be able to say he left Bama in better shape than it was in before, he gets to go be with Emmert and LSU fans will sit back a laugh their asses off.

Bama in better standing now than Nick

Well I would hope so considering he would be going into his 6th year here. I believe I will take Nick in 6 over where we would be with Croom now. RTR

Negative ghost rider. He would be the most scrutinized person in the sports world. As a father, I would not put my family through that twice. As a married man, my wife would NEVER allow that to happen if you know what I mean.

Let's see:
Left Mich. State after 5 years to go to LSU.
Left LSU after 5 years to go to Miami.
Left Miami after 2 years to go to Alabama.

Yep, he's just like you.

but if Willingham and Washington falter,Saban will be first on Emmert's list. Would Saban leave ? Who knows, might not ? Would Saban listen ? Hell, yes.

I have no way to know if Terry's Smallish Husband actually contacted Emmert. Only Napoleon, Sexton and Emmert know that.

But I know that Emmert is tossing Mighty Mouse's name around to top UW boosters. And the backstory about Florida intrigued me, although I have NO idea what the heck that is about, or if it is just "clutter" (as a dainty little Lilliputian used to put it).

But from what the UW guys say this is a growing issue up there with their top money booster base.

We know Emmert is NOT reckless so.....

And anyone who thinks the money is in Tuscaloosa, God love em, but they need to take a tour of some of the neighborhoods on Lake washington or Queen Anne and realize that 34 million is chump change in the home of Microsoft, Google, Starbucks, Boeing and countless other corporate behemoths.

Ok Let's see:
Left Mich St, after 5 years and proving himself, to a much better position with higher pay (Was not publicly scrutinized b/c this is was winners do in their careers. They move up.)
Left LSU, after 5 years and proving himself, to what seemed like the next step up for higher pay (Was not publicly scrutinized b/c, again, this is what winners do. They advance their careers)
Left Miami after 2 years and figuring out that he liked working with students instead of grown men and contracts (Was publicly tarred and feathered b/c he said he wasn't going to go to Alabama)

I would venture to guess that most of us on this board have moved up in careers. I would say that many of us took a position that appeared to be better, only to say a few month's later "Oh crap, what did I get into?" I was simply stating that I don't think he would put his family through that again. He might, but he has only experienced it once and has stated publicly how hard that was. Just sayin' is all. RTR

Maybe he learned his lesson and this time he'll state that he's interested in the job at Washington.

By the way, if he gets more money from them, will the Bama people say "Well, he was just making a better career move"? I bet not.

The only rumblings I have heard are that Meyer has been upset with some recruiting tactics. What I have heard that his beef's are with Saban, Richt, Miles and Shannon. I think more and more Meyer just sounds like a whiney baby. Similar to the Georgia end zone thing.

Probably not, the same way you guys knew he was making a mistake to go to Miami. Wouldn't you agree, though, that him leaving Bama after 2 years is entirely different from him leaving LSU after 5 and succeeding to try out the NFL?
