Outlook not so good. Leach better have more than throw it up and pray.

His best offensive player is a running back.

Somehow I think Mike Leach will cobble together an offensive attack.

Intriguing and in depth analysis.

Idc what any of you think. Leach will have something drawn up to give a LSU defense a hard time. We still be win by a few scores but it won’t be cake.

State has to play five top 15 teams and what should be a good Kentucky squad. They'll be underdogs in at least six games. If they go .500 or better, Leach should be coach of the year.
Schedule:
at LSU
Arkansas
at Kentucky
Texas A&M
at Alabama
Vanderbilt
Auburn
at Georgia
at Ole Miss
Missouri

In all of Leach's years in Pullman, no player had more than 127 carries in a season. Granted, that was in 2019. For reference purposes, Kylin Hill carried the rock 242 times last season.

When Leach had decent individual RB's they rushed for around 700-800 yards in a season. He is deeper and better at TB than he's ever been as a coach all the sudden.

You are correct, but you're forgetting that the #1 or #2 in receptions for Leach teams is the running back.
Like last year Max Borghi had 127 carries and 86 receptions. So the running backs still get a lot of touches.

That’s not really a lot

State fans will have to educate me but do they really have the receivers to be successful throwing the ball 50 times a game?

Especially for a team whose over/under is 2.5.
Huge limb there, worthy of a thread

From what it looks like they do have a returning senior that led the team with 490 yards last season. The rest of last years significant contributors all either graduated or is Kylie hill.
Granted this is JoMo’s offense and a skill player at QB so it’s hard to say. They might have a few gems hidden under a shite offense and QB....or there just might not be anything there after Hill and Mitchell.

I think there is talent there. Osirus Mitchell is solid, and we have a few more 4 star guys that haven’t proven themselves quite yet (Heath, Shavers). If you add in Kylin as a receiving threat, it can work. Sounds like mental issues are the holdup right now, per Leach. Not talent.

We will have to see. State has as much wide receiver talent (by recruiting stars) as Leach ever had at TT or WSU.
Of course, Crabtree was 'only' a .9000 4-star but played better than that.

Ole Miss ran the air raid with AJ Brown and DK Metcalf and never scored more than a couple TD’s against good SEC D’s. Probably gonna need more playmakers than Osiris Mitchell and some rando bench warmers.

I would say Longo's offense was "Air Raid" in name only,
But you're right, we'll need somebody to step up, for sure.

Leach has 26 WRs on the roster. That's less than 2 catches per WR a game

We have no idea if any of the JuCo Wrs and WRs from the transfer portal Leach signed are good or not. I'll trust Leach is a decent evaluator of WR talent.
