Arkansas - does having the most racist city in America hold you back in any way?

There has been story after story on Harrison, Arkansas the last couple weeks being uber racist.
What effect does this city have on the psyche of the team and recruits, and do people just avoid it in general?

Does Missouri being the top state in meth labs at least help them stay out of the top 10 in obesity?
Checks notes
Nope

Go hold up a white lives matter sign on MLK blvd in any city and see what happens.

I'm not affiliated with Arkansas in any way but is this really a thread for a Mizzou fan to start? Y'all have had a ton of Fergusons, and well, Ferguson. Missouri has a history regarding race that would make a lot of places in the South blush.

1992 a girl in my dorm from Harrison dated a black dude and he was even bat shite crazy so two unsystemic racism misappropriation mental health privilege points for her. .
But no, I don’t think Harrison holds us back because most of us have nothing to do with Harrison.

You have to realize the Klan or Christian Revival Ministries isn't in Harrison and the people of Harrison are tired of the stigma. Billboards are nothing new and they are privately owned, like most. If you do something to draw attention like standing at Walmart, you will get the mind of the people, regardless of the message.

The greater Harrison metro area, or maybe the suburbs?

How would your southern town treat this?
quote:
Rob Bliss stood outside a Walmart Supercenter in Harrison, Arkansas - dubbed "America's Most Racist Town" - and held a sign for everyone to see.
quote:
The words on the sign? "Black Lives Matter."
Needless to say, it caused quite a stir.
Bliss, a 31-year-old white man from Los Angeles, endured a barrage of hate speech during his project, which is now a viral rage on social media. He went to Harrison shortly after Independence Day and recorded the reactions of townsfolk, condensed days of vitriol down to just over two minutes, and let it fly on YouTube.

It's like 15mi from the border of Missouri, but I'm sure those imaginary dotted lines protect you from the racism.

Lulz using those words.
Harrison is like 11k people. There are many towns around it, kind of a weird setup. I had 20 high schools in my area in 4 counties.
The klan area is out in Zinc, which is past lead hill, a small town, by Bergman, which is closer to Harrison. Harrison isn't racist and more business, but there are plenty of rednecks in the outlying areas.
Its pretty much hwy 65/62 and 412 through Harrison. Branson is 30 mins away, Springfield 1 hr. Fayetteville is about an hour and a half and little Rock was like 2 hours away. Its two lane road heading to 62 to mtn home, a road that goes to downtown and the community College and 62/412 leads to Fayetteville at Alpena. Iirc. Its been awhile but I know that area like its imprinted and I doubt much has changed since moving. I did hear they got a hobby lobby at the mall. The school in Harrison is super nice and has a awesome football complex, which is baller for Harrison, private donations. They aren't very good though.

I would say mountain home is worse than Harrison, but according to this guy I knew from Chicago in the early 2000s, he said I prefer that racism to the crap in Chicago.

Mountain home is only worse because of its surrounding towns and mtn home being further away from everything (Springfield, Little Rock, and Fayetteville). We had an office in mtn home and west plains, mo as well. I know those areas and surrounding counties very well too.

It’s not Harrison AR that’s the most racist!
Booneville AR holds that title — Until the late 90’s there was a sign on Hwy 10 leaving town
It was quite something to see!

Some idiot from Michigan googles all things KKK and ends up in Harrison, AR.
No different than when Kamau Bell and CNN brought their cameras into Harrison.
Harrison was once known for their heavy KKK presence, but now it's just billboards really. Progress, but only before sundown.
