After leaving lsu ,is lsu the top program in college football?
They don't have the history of bama, but I'm talking since saban left lsu .if he never went to bama. We would have 5 I bet.

You were not going to win 5 with Les. No way.

Id be interested to see what the 2005 and 2006 squads could have done with someone else in charge.

LSU probably doesn't win 5 titles with Les, but without Alabama's run to be compared to he doesn't go anywhere either. Hard to fire a coach winning a lot of games without a reason.

I mean are we forgetting Urban stays at Florida and Florida doesn't change much without competition from Alabama?

U misunderstood stood me. We've won 3 since saban came here. Doesn't matter who won them.
I'd say we win a 4th for sure if we don't play saban in that natty.
There has to be at least one season that we win one more championship in..that would make 5

I mean maybe in the SEC, but it wouldn’t be by as wide a margin as Bama with Saban. And no I doubt we’d have 5 nc’s lol

I think the point is that LSU never has their dream 2019 season without Saban at Bama to shape history as it occurred.
Meyer may be the coach at ND, if not still at UF winning championships, instead of going to tOSU. Joey Burrow may have graduated a NC winning Buckeye or transferred away into oblivion elsewhere... who knows?
UTk may not have completely dismantled its football program. Who knows who or what would be going on at Auburn. UGA may still have a "NC" winning mark richt as HC with a lot of momentum from a 2012 NC.
I feel most confident that Miles is still at LSU in your scenario. The 2011 season may still have occurred as a big year, but the hype was really built on the GoTC Pt1 and Pt2, so the season is big but maybe not as big.
That said, LSU likely still has 3... maybe 4 NCs

I just changed one factor.thats never realistic though

Clemson likely never becomes what they are now.
Alabama dismantling clemson in the 2008 opener is a large factor in Tommy Bowden getting canned and Dabo being named the interim. Without Saban, Alabama may have never scheduled that game and Tommy Bowden possibly lasts a few more seasons at Clemson.

Well, with no Saban kicking his arse, Miles certainly would have been the guy winning them.
So, just to be clear, Les Miles with 4 national championships would have more than any active coach.
Tell us again...why did you fire a guy who would have had more national championships than Knute Rockne, Tom Osborne, Urban Meyer, Darrell Royal, Barry Switzer, and Bud Wilkinson?
