Hate to see that, but some of his other points were valid.

- "the more money they have, the dumber they seem to get."
- SEC expansion hurt UA from a recruiting standpoint, specifically with TX, LA, and MO kids.
- never had a QB during his career outside of Matt Jones his freshman year
- Petrino was able to win and compete by way of mismatches (+ a dynamic QB)

I hate to say it, but he's not too far off base. I'm not exactly proud of Razorback football at the moment.

Sounds to me like a bunch of ex players thought they could walk into campus a s get a coaching job just because they wrr ex players.

Drew Morgan tried the same thing. There's a difference between the university embracing you as a player and not handing over a coveted job for someone with no experience.

Not sure I really buy this. Our recruiting in Texas is the same as it was before 2012 (mediocre). And we just signed more 4 stars in 2019 than we ever have.

There was a thread on the rant a few weeks ago and one of the subjects brought up was how many 4* and 5* players Oregon gets from California. Their in-state talent isn't very good just like ours, but if we could recruit Texas like they have California lately we'd be so much better. USC, UCLA, Stanford and Cal are pretty comparable to Texas, A&M, TCU and Texas Tech.

I guess one major difference is the only other P5 programs that border California are Oregon State, Arizona and Arizona State while we have to recruit against OU, LSU and Oklahoma State for east Texas recruits. Much harder to recruit against the latter. And Texas also has Baylor while the next best program from California would probably be Fresno State.

Agreed but they are still my "boys" and always will be.
