What Mullen did last year was amazing

He took a two star QB back up with a terrible offensive line (because the previous staff didnt recruit Oline depth for shite) and and went 10-2 in the SEC. He fared far better vs the eventual national champs at their house than Clemson, OU, or Georgia, all who had far better teams than what he inherited and is building up.
Guy doesnt get enough love for how incredible what he did last year was. Trask is a pocket passer. He had a young and inexperienced Oline Mullen is still building depth at. The Olins gave him no run game nor much time in the pocket during pass plays. Yet he created the third best passing attack in the SEC(behind two of the three best in the nation mind you).
He completely changed how he ran his offense in a week between UK and Tenn. Franks ran more and used option more, as well as threw more deep balls and out routes. So the offense was designed for that all offseason.
Trask comes in. He suited it to fit his strengths magnificently. Despite Trask having little time to throw and no run game to threaten. Mullen used an offense he really hasn't had since Alex Smith and made it work.
That shite is incredible. Now he has an entire offense to mold the offense to Trask. He should have a better Oline now as well. This should be very fun to see what Mullen has this upcoming season with Trask.
I know the Georgia morons here will try to discredit it because they are scared Mullen is building something. I suspect the rest of you will recognize how impressive it was though. Should be fun to see what happens this year with a full offseason of Trask to plan.

We will see! I still think he is not a top recruiting coach

He isnt a job recruiting coach. No Gator fan would argue that. He is better in terms of blue chip and star rating average than Mac. Much better. Hopefully it's good enough.

You think he scores more than 17 in Jax?
Was his 4th quarter against UGA amazing? Where A&M and Auburn go hurry up and actually get a chance to threaten UGA with a victory, Mullen slows things down, runs out the clock, but brags about losing by 7 when UGA finished with the football for the last 3:11 on the clock and still had all 3 timeouts.

Far better than what Kirby did the entire year with a four star QB and five star offense.
Way to prove my point though. Stupid mutt. Your fan base is a sad group. 1980.

I agree. Y’all should keep him forever!

Your point is that Mullen can be the second best team in the East?
It has been proven. Congrats, I guess.
Being 2nd in the East is amazing.
And averaging 11 ppg against Kirby Smart is amazing too. All of that success with such little talent. I know it has you jacked up.

Jesus your fan base is insufferable. 1980. Amazing how any thread about UF is swarmed by Georgia. The fear is real. You almost winning something meaningful for 40 years has you on edge.

What was 1989? Why did you change it?

Miss hit on my phone when I typed it. Anything else? Why does it take Mullen a week of twerking to design a better offense than Smart can with three years of Fromm and a veteran Oline? Just wondering.

For 2019, we struggled at WR.
Cager was the only elite one from the get go. Pickens emerged as the season ran along (and when Cager was no longer an option). In the SECCG, cager was hurt, pickens suspended for a half, and Blaylock tore his ACL. That was after losing 4 players to the NFL (3 were juniors) and a 5th receiver was kicked off the team preseason.
Luckily, we have 5 top 100 WR recruits in the past 2 classes to try and right the ship.
Anything else?

This was an obvious cry for attention and an obvious response to my last post in the other LSU version of a Mullen thread.
We can have dialogue on a message board. No?

Until the Bowl game and that embarrassment
Mullen cannot stop Teams that pass first and an LSU dee was injury riddled still won by 14
I had hopes for a better Florida to give GA a run in 2020, but the Virginia game showed me they’re stuck in 2nd gear. One trick poney, Fla & Trask gonna get seriously hurt against aggressive defenses.
1. Just don’t score enough to be an elite team
2. Trask has a fked up knee — Huge liability
The Big Q: Can Trask’s Knee hold up to give GA a run and possibly beat them in an upset
KY — Cupcake — Tenn — SC — LSU — MS — 1 week off then GA
Where are the WRs Mullen had in 2020?
LSU is gonna spank that arse in the Swamp with a super aggressive dee unlike anything Aranda played!
Trask’s knee will likely never last to see GA but they got an outside chance vs GA if the knee holds
Watch LSU vs GA: A very mobile Burrow spanked that bulldawg @$$
Trask didn’t run vs GA in 2020. What’s gonna change!

veteran Oline
In 2019, we got to our 2nd string LT, 3rd string LG, 3rd string C, third string RG, and 2nd string RT.
With the depth at OL stockpiled on the roster, you obviously didnt even notice.
But yeah... we didn't finish 1 game with the starting 5 in tact all game. 2018 and 2019 were brutal on our lines (we got down to our 4th string RG in the 2018 SECCG).

Not at all. Was recognizing an incredible coaching job despite bad circumstances. I haven't posted or read any part of the thread you are referring to so it's certainly not a response thread. Little full of ourselves there.

Can we take a moment and realize that without Cam, 1980 would be 1957 and Auburn would be the one who deserved that.

So y’all have one hell of an offensive coordinator as your head coach, and the man no doubt got lucky his choice at qb broke his leg. Congrats!

Mullen did more with less at MSU and looks to be following the same pattern at Florida but it is the less part that's the problem.
