...is easily the best in the country with all of the NC's, great NFL players, etc. and I hope it stays that way. It makes for a great conference.

Question: If some SEC team is looking for a big-time coach next year, who would you like to see come into the conference? He can be from the college or pro ranks.

i think most teams are set, tenn may be the only one looking for a coach after next season unless some coaches move around again.

I don't think that is very likely. Phil Fulmer just signed a new contract about a week ago.

Arkansas will have an opening in (less than) 3 years. Book it.

I'd like to see Tony Dungy because he's a great man and an excellent coach, but the odds of him leaving Indianapolis for Fayetteville are pretty slim.

Weren't they talking of him retiring after this year?

Yeah, but it's the "for Fayetteville" part that makes that a distant possibility.

Nothing against Arkansas, but...he's about to retire as an NFL head coach. If Arkansas has an opening, it's probably because Petrino bailed out on Arkansas. I suspect that he'll leave it in a state of turmoil, like with the Atlanta Falcons, as opposed to leaving it for someone else to frick up, as what happened with Louisville. In that case, why would Dungy bother coming out of retirement to bring a program on hard times back to national prominence?

...Yes, I know, NFL coaches do that sorta thing. But I just don't see it happening.

What if Bill Cowher took a job in the SEC? I don't know who with but "The Chin" would probably be a good fit amongst all of the all star coaches here.

I don't know, but I heard rumors that he is looking to be JoePa's replacement at Penn State.

Why coach in the SEC? It's tough enough! Build your program in an easier conference and dominate!

East
Mark Richt
Steve "Visor" Spurrier
Urban Meyer
Phil Fulmer (He did win an NC at Tennessee, even if it was a long time ago)
West
Les Miles
Nick Saban
Bobby Petrino
Tommy Tuberville

Why would a coach want to have to face top notch competition on a week in week out basis, unless they are little money loving bitches like NS and Bobby Petrino

I would like to see "The Tuna" coaching in the SEC and he could bring the rest of the Dolphins with him. Maybe they could win more than more than one game this year.
