re: Real duck for dog training

Posted by cougar38 on 7/31/14 at 1:21 pm
I only saved wings from last year and never actually thought about saving an entire duck. We have a few that walk around my neighborhood in Lafayette but that would piss a lot of people off. Hopefully my pup just catches one on "accident"

ETA: got the info for the guy in gretna in case I need more down the road before the season starts?

Real duck for dog training

Does anyone know where I could get a real dead frozen or unfrozen duck (not all white farm duck) to train my lab with? He's almost 8 months old and I've used duck scents and wings from duck season but I want the body to see if he has a soft mouth. Can't figure out where to find one out of season.
That's a paddle fish.

Unless this is sarcasm didn't catch it
The hull truth gets a lot of looks too.
finals suck all i can look at right now is the hull truth and pictures on rodnreel. man i need to get offshore soon.

I'd go aluminum. Very simple upkeep. Ours is an old scullys aluminum 17' with no carpet or wood anywhere just aluminum. Has an 80s Yamaha. Still runs like a champ and you can hit logs and stuff with aluminum and not be worried about it. "keep it simple stupid" kinda describes it

Damn if thats right, with gasses price like they are now, the boat would practically pay itself off after a couple of years compared to a mono hull.

ETA: Freeman 33. Scroll down to look at Suzuki and yamaha numbers. LINK

That thing is awesome. Anyone know how much gas and the mpg's for the freeman 33 and freeman 40?
Definitely better boats when you're willing to pay $300K. Contender, seavee, yellowfin, regulator, venture, the list goes on. If speed is what you're looking for go fountain. Can't say I like the verados though.

re: Buying a Camp??? Yes or No

I may be wrong but i think i remember someone talking about a lot of theft going on in the cocodrie area on here. Other than that great fishing we make a trip a couple of times a year. Check out cypremort point too, we have a camp over there and use it all the time fishing is good too just got to know where to go.

I have a zeiss 3-9x40mm on my tikka 270 WSM. think I paid around $400 for it. Can't go wrong with Leopold or tikka though.

re: Xtrema 2 vs. SBE II

I have the xterma 2 and love it. Everyone in my family hunts with them too and have never had any problems. And all of the hunting is in tough marsh conditions.

Really comes down the which gun feels the best to you. Try to find someone who has the guns and go shoot both. All comes down to personal preference with the semi autos around $1000.
