Let’s talk TE’s

Question: how devastating of an impact can a great and well utilized Tight End have on SEC Defenses?

Not talking about serviceable ones, not just a body outside the tackle, but a really great one? You all know what I’m talking about because you know them when you see them and quickly learn their name. They’re rare.

I get that in these flash in a pan one hit wonder spread teams who catch lightning in a bottle one given year and don’t need one. Not talking about them – those teams are irrelevant long term.

I’m talking about teams who have a great one and utilize him effectively in the game plan each week. They wreak havoc and cause constant nightmares for opposing D’s and their coordinators. Too much attention on him, opens up everyone else. Too little attention on him you get gashed for 40 yd chunk plays. And they’re savage in the red zone.

Discuss.

(And not talking about TE’s who were in HS this time last year, they’re totally irrelevant because they’re unproven at college level – looking at you corn dogs so save it)

Oh oh ohh! Did I mention we have the best TE duo in college football this yr and next? Good luck to everyone else’s D’s running around like idiots trying to handle our two TE sets!
